Hi there, I've already posted things around here, but I had never scrolled down (duh) so I found this thread just now.
I'm from Argentina and I'm 24 now, born in 1983. I'm a translator, a pianist, a son, a boyfriend, a useful member of society, and on my free time, a hopeless PES addict.
I was a FIFA player from the first up to 2001, but I had already started playing Winning Eleven 3 back in the days of FIFA 98/99. I never ever had a console, so I used a PSX emu on my lightning-fast Pentium MMX. It worked quite well.
By the time I got into WE 4, I was a good player -took me a year of extreme addiction. Back then, I had a very good friend whom I don't see so much now, and we went to local tournaments and beat the crap out of Brazil-using mediocre players (they abound in tournaments here... is that the same in your respective countries?). He liked to play as Ucraine, and I always chose Nigeria. So imagine the group stage: Brazil, Brazil, Brazil, Nigeria. Group 2: Brazil, Ucraine, Brazil, Brazil. Then the odd guy who used Germany or Sweeden and that was it.
Neither of us ever actually won a tournament, but we usually got to the semis or final. It was always some wicked guy who knew how to play and still used Brazil -no honor if you ask me- that won the first prize (you know, Playstations, Playstations 2, etc.), so I guess that's why I never had one of those.
When the WE series moved to the PS2 it was so sad for me, because I was stuck with the PS1 version. Luckily KONAMI released PES 3 for PC, and years later, here I am.
I look forward to seeing you online when I get my (legitimate) copy in 2008.
