Introduction Clip

I was thinkinhg about changing the short clip that plays when you start PES. I have noticed that within the DarioX Patch, and the X-Group 1.3 patch, that these have been changed from the default clip, to clips such as Roberto Carlos' freekick, and Maradonna's goal against England. I haven't seen much information about this around, and I just wondered what folder would it be found in, and what is the name of the file?

No sorry. I am a PS2 man myself. I know that Zygalski has the X-Box version so he might be able to help. Good luck!

Hi man, I'm new to all this so I am not 100% sure but I would guess that the filename for the video that is played at the start is pes4n.xmv / pes4p.xmv (dependant on NTSC or PAL of course).

I know for certain that 0_sound.afs contains the main menu music but I really do not know if it includes the music played during the video, I would guess not though. This is all just an educated guess as I have only been modding PES4 for 1 day so far!!

Hope it helps.

Cheers anyway. Not sure Zygalski has to Xbox version from what he's been saying. Could be wrong though.

Cheers. The pes4n.xmv or pes4p.xmv isn't actually in the AFS, which I've just noticed. Thanks anyway for the information, I'll look into it.
I think the Music that goes with the clip is just audio on the clip itself, therefore it wouldn't be in the 0_sound.afs which is what I thought.

I'm very surprised that this is only your second day of editing. I'll have to look in .xmv to .avy/mpeg and vice versa now. I'll keep you lot updated.

Anytime, always happy to help a fellow modder :)

The pes4n/p.xmv files I was referring to are not embedded in an AFS file, they are seperate files which can be found by extracting the ISO from your original PSE4 disc.

I have done a bit of testing by deleting the relevant files. The game hangs with a dirty disc error just when it is about to load the clip that plays when you start PES4 when the pes4n.xmv file is missing but plays fine (including the clip) when the pes4p.xmv file is missing. I am using PAL60.

This seems to make it clear that the pes4n.xmv file is in fact the relevant file for the clip (the fact that this file is also in xmv format was also a big givaway)! So I am assuming that the pes4p.xmv file is used for NTSC and PAL60 where as the pes4p.xmv file is used for PAL50.

Oh, and it would make sense that the music that goes with the clip is just audio on the clip as this is the way all video files work to my knowledge (which in fairness is pretty limited).

Cheers, I just been playing arround with the DarioX and X-Group patches along with sticking the Pesfan PES4 V3 option file on there too. Gotta say I love the crowd sounds on DarioX but I had to get rid of 'Jump' as the title music, the champions league music is much more fitting :)

Good Luck.

Well. I've done it.

After looking around the net for converters, encoders and other shite. I've finally figured out how to change the Introduction screen. I'll consider posting a tuturial up, because it's very confusing some parts of it.

Sure. It's only Stevie Gerrard's goal in UEFA Champions Leagueas a little test i tried out.
What you need to do is put two copies of this is your PES4 folder. One called pes4p.xsv and pes4n.xsv. Just copy and paste the same file. Don't know whether this is neccessary or not, but it seemed to work for me.

It's not a brilliant clip, just loved the commentary, like I said it's just a little test I done, and it's only about 20 seconds long.

Enjoy,

i would love to have my intro to pes4 (on xbox) be the goals from that brilliant match, i am a lfc fan and that was the most special moment in my football (fan) life.

it would cause me to always watch it when the game sets up though :)
