it has took me a long time to admit this to myself, but i beleive that pes 4 gameplay is well better than pes 5.

I beeive that pes 5 gameplay is alot more, dare i say it, "fifa'ish" it seems to me that the smooth gameplay of knocking it past a defender or challenging for a header have been replaced with a sort of pre-rehearsed movement.

if you dont know what i mean heres an example, when the keeper clears the ball and you wont to challenge for a header, sometimes you dont you simple try to ruffle with the defender, challenging for the ball. now dont get me wrong it is not the worst thing ever but i seem to rember fifa bringing a stupid thing like that in a few years ago were you had to ruffle with the opponent to win th ball.

Also how hard is it to run past the defense, i mean you cant even run at them, and after all is that not what a defender hates most' a player charging at them full pelt.

Thanks people dont mean to sound like the game is complete pants because i am still addicted to it, but i just needed to get that off my chest. and it would be nice to hear your views on this!

p.s. the editor section is brilliant and the goals you can score, e.g. volly, without really trying are brill too!

i completely agree with you tommyc1. pro evo has gone slightly downhill on the gameplay side. pro evo 5 doesnt seem like real football compared to previous ones. the gameplay seems to slow and there just isnt that cutting edge of running and the thrill of skinning a defence. konami needs this to improve we dont want fifa we want pro evo!!

pes5 is the best in the series passing is smoother the game play is better also shooting and graphics slightley improved.Don't play this game like proevo4 because it's not the same game just give it a chance and forget about proevo4 then you'll come to see what the rest of us see.How great pro evo 5 really is playing a match on 6 stars now is the closest you can come to real football on a computer.

well tommyc1 i agree on a few things about the ruffle to get the ball when its in the air but i deffo think it is just you about the gameplay from pro 4 to pro 5 i believe that your looking at it as pro 5 is just a step up from pro 4 than pro 5 is a totally different game all together, all you need is some practise mate cos come on aslong as you master it you can get round defender read some threads on here some people can now run rings around people its all about timing, you really think its that easy to run straight through a defence come on you see it on the telly u never see alot of goals where they run past defence its always through balls and i bet everyone agrees once you play pro 5 for quite sometime then you start to realise that it isn't that slow after all it's just as fast as pro 4 it just needs to be more tactical what i'm saying is that alot of people when this game first came out we all said how slow it and how hard it is now people are turning around and saying its to easy and a whole lot of people are saying they run rings around people and its all about timing, trust me this game is nothing even remotely like fifa-ish trust me i kno i have 360 and got fifa 06 its shite

pro evo 5 is much better, its slower so people have to think about there passing and formation, it barstool hard to score to make every chance count.
as wise ninja said "open your eyes, and shut your mouth"

what is wrong with people. You're entitled to your own opinions but I think you need to play it more. You 100% CAN run through the defence with practice and playing it enough. As greeny said do NOT play this game as if it is pes4, start again. We all had to, it was hard to change but it's very rewarding when you do

I recall feeling the same with PES4 and then PES3 etc. I also recall that after a few seasons in the master league, when you have settled on a formation and have those key players in the team and build around them it all seems to work out and you then really begin to appreciate what has happened over the seasons since you started.
You start to have an emotional attachment to your team like a tamagotchie or whatever they were called because you have put so much time and effort into it.

Just give it time.

Well, The more you play it the better it gets (hopefully).

I suffered multiple 0-0 draws and was gettign very frustrated with it. I tried to change my style- more passes and I use sprint a lot less than I used to as you don't always need it. As Kevthedrummer said- change your style and it will come good.

I did think that PES4 was better in control but now (having played 5 more) I am not so sure.

I have played PES 5 to a large extent and do not hate it as much as I used to. PES 4 is still more fun though.

more fun in wot way with your friends or against the comp cos i seem to fink yea ok pro evo 4 is fun with your mates because its quite easy to pick up and play as in pro evo 5 you have to own the game and played it for awhile before you can even go up against someone else

Both. The AI just annoys me now due to numerous niggles. And PES 4 wasn't so stop-start which drives all of my harem mad.

That was the important thing for me. After endless 0-0 draws, i forced myself not to use R1 at all (with the exception of chasing the ball in defence) and to my suprise it produced very good effects. I might be slower on the counter but the attack seems to be more deadly this way. I still can get some of the 0-0 draws or serious beating but enjoying the game a lot more.

I was of that belief for a while too, Tommy. If you keep playing, you will eventually learn how great a game PES5 is. It is easily better than any football game ever created. It took me about a month and a half of playing to get to the point of being able to run at defenders, but it is so worth it now.
