ive been playing PES3 solid for the last 3 days and im unsure if it really is a more enjoyable game than PES2.

true it is a more realistic game but on 2 player i dont seem to be having the same experience i do on evo 2.

before i got the game i expected myself to take time to get into it (the same way i did with pro evo 1 and 2) but i just dont know.

the game does take a lot more skill than past games and that will mean truly great players will whoop average players.

anyway, give me another week and il have my final judgement. i do feel it will be a better game.time will tell......

PES2 - dribble past loads of players to score an unrealistic goal.

PES3 - work hard to make an opening to score a well earned goal past a tough defence.

I prefer PES3.

In PES2, average but lucky players can beat good players. Hopefully this will happen less in PES3 where class will show.

Yeh i feel very much the same Patrick..ive played PES3 for 2 days now...and so far it hasnt given me no where near the excitement and cant get enough of feeling as PES2...many features in PES3 are a lot better then PES2..but i feel some things should of maybe kept the same as in PES2...PES2 seems a lot more smother when running..PES3 feels like your running in straight lines and movements...better tricks though.Over time ..i think i will fall in love with the game as i did with PES2..this is coming from a previous Non-exsistant soccer fan!!

no question, i agree 100% with what zyg said, on pes2 i used to give it to sheva who would skin every1 and score, now i have slow well worked build ups and score good quality goals.

I'm shocked that anyone thinks PES3 isn't as good. It's the best football game of all time in my eyes. Once again Konami have managed to improve on what was already a brilliant game.

I am finding it very hard to get some space nea the opposition goal to shoot, or to send my striker through one on one.

But haven't reflected on it, the amount of times I am through mirrors a real life game.

I feel it is a little too hard to proper skin someone, not in the unrealistic way that you could to pes2, but to just speed away down the wing with e fast player.

But i think the dribbling system is really awesome, especially with the combitions of r1 and r2. Using a player like giggs can really make you create some realistic dribbling sequences, even though it is harder to beat someone for pace.

All in all it is a billion times better than pes2, and Im saying this as Im struggling on 3 star at the mo.

MaybeI have a reservation over the shooting. It no doubt looks realistic on te replays (technique wise) but I feel the shots are a bit dare I say it "scripted". They seem to always blast it (even when i touch it for a split second for a nice slow floor shot).

I think the dribbilin is well good and class does show

P.S

yeah i went on to 5* straight away.

first match:lost 1-0 to brazil they scored a pen and i missed a beckham pen.

first goal:Giggs run down wing and wack from the angle in the roof of the net :D

best win:3-0 against roma

but i do find it hard to get space to score

the only way I can score againt the computer is to use 1-2s and even they are hard to do. I need to vary my goals. oh, and I can't cross at all.

yeh PES3 is better because u also hav 2 assign each player his own attacking or defending stratergy, it is easier to score and defend this way.

If you are continually pressing to score goals, then the opposing defenders WILL cluster in the middle to prevent you scoring. This is exactly what happens in real football, it's what the Italians call 'Catenaccio' or 'Chain-link' football.
When you're trying to score all time and defenders behave like this it can be really frustrating. The solution is to alter your strategy and use a more indirect build-up play i.e. retain possesion by passing the ball around in midfield and draw out the opposing defenders. I've tried this tactic already and it works.

It's also a good idea to set the game time to 15 minutes, as it means you can spend more time in your approach play.

i think pes 3 is much better than pes 2 because of what has already been mentioned, i class myself as a very good player, whereas my cousin, is rather lucky.

he got ok near the end of PES 2, but held me to a lot of draws and a few wins, the worst run against him saw me lose 3-0 3 games in a row (after which i wanted to hang myself)

but on PES3 we played 10 games over the weekend, with me winning 9 and drawing 1, scoring 21 goals and conceding 2 (in the same match) so 9 clean sheets and the highlight of a 6-0 win left me well chuffed. much better for the rather better players of the series. not so good for my cousin.
