OK, I have 40 players in my ML team, so I can't buy more players. So I decided to trade two of my players for Henry and Rivelino.

In the Concluded <In> screen it said both transfers were completed, but the new players didn't appear on my team and I still had all my Pts! The next week both players were listed as playing for their original teams, and I could apply for them again if I wanted. It sucks, I want them on my team!

Did anyone hear of this before, it must be a bug?

Is it possible that you bid on these guys between the weeks 5-8?

If that's the case, then probably the players will be at your club at the end of the season..

Did your players leave?

If not, it could very well be to do with the order they process the transfers in. Rather than doing them simultaneously, the PS2 might process the incoming player first, which would make your squad too big, consequently the trade would be cancelled as a result.

I seem to remember Championship Manager doing this in one of the older versions.

My players stayed with me.

I just tried the same thing again with Zico (now in the second half of the off-season). Same results, trade succeded but nothing happened :(

I released a player and tried again. This time it worked. Rivelino joined my squad. Strange.
