I've just witnessed a lovely through ball by Beckham to Ronaldo only to see old rabbit teeth himself come to a standstill instead of running for the ball!!

Konami WHY OH WHY!!?!?! does such a superb game have to be flawed so badly with these little AI niggles!! ARGH!!!!!!!

Please get it right next time, I am getting sick of having to buy new control pads all because I get booked for winning the ball, always get caught offside, always only ever see two sliding tackle animations, always have goalkeepers who can't throw the ball to an unmarked fullback or winger, never get in front of a player running to tackle him (yet the CPU can do this to me?!?!), can't score amazing goals with the stupid hit an hope system etc etc etc!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everything you've posted about the game there is 100% correct....and they were also problems in PES2.

The slide tackling really does my head, you do a superb tackle and you get booked.

i think if u press R1 and L1 at the same time they stop running, u probably did this by mistake, it might be L1 and L2 or R1 and R2. But there is definitly a way 2 do it. Very useful to stop ur players running and nocking out for a throw.

I know this move very well ( :R1: :R2: ) and stun my mates when deploring it as they cant stop their men leaving the ball for a corner to them etc. lol!
So no this cant be the reason why inexplicably a player of Ronaldo's talent leaves a lovely weighted through ball and comes to a standstill other than bad AI. I know this because Virtua Striker 2 on the dreamcast was riddled with the same mistakes (I must have owned VS2 like 5 times over. Damn psychotic streak lol).
So come on KnoIdeami get it bloody sorted you've had 3 chances PES wise (I've never player Winning Eleven).

it's the best by far but there is alot of room for improvements, the bad ai(players going 1 on 1 with the keeper with 50 meters to go and they just stop sprinting and therefore the defenders catch him) and the fact that the game is way too easy

I'm just grateful we even got a game that plays the standard of football we come to know from the real game. Programming a football isn't the easiest...I mean, look at FIfa for instance and the dire club football...those games are no where near PES3...so konami are miles ahead of the competition....it will get better for PES4.

if only pes got all of the licences they could outsell fifa, fifa outsold pes3 this year quite hard, alot more compared to last year

When I do a perfect tackle I never get booked. If something is perfect in a soccer game I think you'll never be booked.

yeah, we all know thats the key issue. its not just as easy as buying them though. fifa in many cases has exclusive rights to them, so no other game can buy them. unless they go to the clubs directly like they did with a few in pes3. it would cost a lot of money that way though.

I agree with that if you get the ball it shouldn't be a foul, unless its an agressive challenge.

If you press the button hard is it more agressive.

Also the tackles from behind are a joke, any tackle from behind or the side is an automatic foul, even though in the real game they've told the referees to relax on it.

I have to say I often yell "No foul, you're crap" against the fictive referee but when the replay is shown I usualy understand why the referee called it a foul. That's my point of view!
