Stardusted: I know what you mean when you say you feel like the game is cheating.
Often I have found myself in situations when playing that are just weird.
For example, after making the 1-0 goal on level 5 and playing for a while more, all of a sudden my players, like on cue, start missing stuff. First one miss a pass completely, then one is going to receive the ball and just sort of bounces it off his foot out to a throw in. Or they all of a sudden get noticeably slower in dribbling and movement (even players who's stamina is way up).
It feels like there is some built in "favor" mechanism. Like for example is I am leading the match with 1-0, the game all of a sudden decides to put some pressure on me and starts favoring the other side. My players all seem to drop down to the blue downpointing condition arrow, and the other team have a field-day (often making the 1-1 equalizer). It's like the game is really trying to emulate the perhaps normal shifts in pressure and tempo in real matches. Except it sucks since you have no control over it. And the point of playing a videogame is to have control, I don't want to sit there and feel controlled by the game.
As for the overall changes in PES5, I am actually in favor. The game plays so much more like the real thing. HOWEVER, there are some things that are really weird.
For example, some moves are quite slow to make things harder. I am talking for example of the animation for turning sideways when you have quite some speed. I realize that they intentionally made this animation a bit slower to make sure that turning while having alot of speed would be harder and slower than while having a slow speed.
But as it is now it looks really weird, the player seems to go into some sort of slomo sequence when compared to some of the other animations in the game (for example just running with some players, their legs move at like a 1000 miles per hour). There is just so much difference in speed between some of the animations. The most accurate thing I think would be to time real-life moves and match those to the PES game. For example time a move that Ronaldinho does (just turning with the ball or smtn) and then time a slow non-technical player. That way they could model the game after real-life tempos.
Now things just seem exaggerated just to make some things really hard to do.
