Just four brief points, come of the comments on here are very true. The stats on Fifa make no difference, as every player can pass and shoot with the same power and accuracy, and the fact that the Fifa review doesn't once mention game play pretty much sums up what fifa is about. Its like the beautiful girl you see on the bus. Perfect body, nice eyes, great smile, nice clothes, you go up to her and chat to her, and she is boring as crap! SOMETIMES, looks aren't everything!
Second of all, it would be incredibly illegal for EA to do that, and in breach of the fair trade act. They do not in any way have any right to stop Konami's demo being released. It shows though, that people know Fifa is EA is scared of Konami's offering, hence realisng there game a week earlier. Head to head, the sales would speak for themselves.
Thirdly, that picture did look very good graphically. But if i wanted something that good, i would watch Football First or Match Of The Day. Also, an EA logo on the football?! It proves that they spend all that time on licenses, but the most important thing in the game, the ball, isn't even a official ball. Next year, it might be egg shaped!!!
And finally, and most importantly people choose Fifa for one of two reasons. One, they are drawn in by pretty objects with alot of glitz and TV adverts. They are not hardcore gamers and will play Fifa maybe once a week on a casual level. The other reason is because throughout every Fifa game. ITS SO EASY. Fifa 99, i won a match 13-0 by pressing towards the goal and triangle (to run fast) then Circle (to shoot). People feel good, because they can choose their favourite team, and automatically win everything with them. younger players love this, and ultimatly, they are the ones who grow up playing video games.
Its rare you get someone who converts from Pro to Fifa, but people always end up going to to Pro From Fifa.
Hope that makes sense.
