Just a thought...

Open suggestion to all fans of football games..........
Why is it, with the battle that is going on between FIFA and PES, has neither side had the insight to create a game based on the English leagues????
Incorporating the Master league concept from PES, surely the best step would be to have a player built team starting in the non-league divisions, therefore incorporating the idea that as your created team progresses they win points to either improve your created players or buy new and improved players as the season(s) move on.
This would surely increase the longevity of the game, and allow masters of football games to create awesome teams, stadiums etc.

Does this idea interest anyone else out there?

a few reasons why this wouldn't work:

1) Not everyone wants to play as english teams

2) Not many people want to play as non-league teams

3) The game would be far too big if they encorporated all of the lower leagues.

Fifa 2004 does include the lower leagues by the way (down to the third division if I remember correctly) but realistically the only team I play as is Sheffield United and it's rare that I ever use them.
Essentially playing as a third division team is worse than playing as your starting master league team wich to me at least is an extremely unappealing prospect

There was a patch released for WE6:FE where all the clubs were replaced by Premiership and Div1/2 teams. A few people, including the boss of this site have indicated that they will be making such a patch containing only English teams in a patch for WE7/PES3. Outside of the teams that would be available for this patch, I'm not sure if anyone would be interested in 'lower' teams.

good idea but just not practical....I love the EPL but nationwaide...uhhh no thanks. Besides then I would just have to fork out more money for something that should be 1 game anyways...its very EAesque

I think it is a splendid idea to include all the Divisions but certainly not the Non League sides. In fact one of the reason I bought Fifa 2004 because I really like the prospect of taking a Div 3 side to the Premier League. I love the challenge of starting at the bottom.
Unfortunately due to poor dribbling controls,, I have stopped playing Fifa2004.

is that the only reason you stopped playing it? I'm impressed 8D.
In Fifa you do have the option to play as your favourite third, second or first division teams but since EA didn't bother with any of the players and made them all look almost nothing like the actual players they representr I found these teams hard to play as

sales in england take up a minor percentage of konami/whoevers profits

theresy just above 50million people in england and billions in other countries where the game is also sold, spending time to produce a game which would only be bought by say.....500,000-1,000,000 people here, if im being generous, would never profit the company

so yeh, get patches and be happy fifa is the nearest youre gonna get to that i think

Do you guys remember a game called "player manager"? It was a great manager game for the amiga, which used the game engine from the legendary "kick off" by dino dini when you played the match.

In this game you were a veteran star who was offered to become a player manager in some lowly english club, in the 3rd division, if I remember correctly.

Anyways, it was an amazing game where you fought you way to the top, signing old talent, discovering new, and managing the club economy.

When it was match day, the wonderful manager game suddenly became "kick off", which was the PES/WE of its day. Amazingly!

Finally you reached the first division, and you win a place in the european tournaments.

God, I miss this game... I would love to have a version of this game with the WE engine.
