Kahn underrated

I think Oliver Kahn is way underrated in the game!
he is definately the best goalkeeper in the world for quite some years now and he stands above the others, wich are - i agree- quite good too of course, but not no.1 like him, Casillas or Buffon for example.

Oh please, don´t compare Casillas with Buffon ! I think the Juve keeper is the best on his position since a couple of months.
PS. Kahn is auch nicht mehr das was er mal war :D

There are a lot of keepers in the game that are better then Casillas, eg Toldo, Buffon, Kahn, Barthez. But in real life Casillas has improved much over the last years. However he is not as good as Buffon or Kahn.

i think buffon is the best in the world right now, don't let the goals which he gets at the moment fool you, juve's defence this year is really bad. maybe zambrotta as left back is a bit too much if you don't have nesta-cannavaro in the middle. anyway, i never saw a goalie so complete so early, buffon is only 25.

No,Kahn is NOT under-rated.

If you watched the match between the Catalans and Los Galacticos and the Catalans last night, you will know it is definitely Casillas who is under-rated,as opposed to Kahn.....his agility, response are the best in the world.....Buffon is good too though, but his stability and jumping were under-rated in Pro 3......Howard is the most under-rated in the game,Yashin is also under-rated,and this is coming from a keeper

Glottis, are you talking about Van Der Sar ?? If so, - you have to know that all keepers have their up`s and downs every season. Today`s keepers are nothing compared to ones who played 5 - 10 yrs. ago. Everyone is talking about Buffon or Casillas - yes they are good but you gotta remember they are still young and "green". They need to develop and I`m sure over the next few years they`re gonna be a helluva keepers. Today I believe in only in 4 goal keepers and they are

1.) Kahn
2.) Barthez
3.) Van Der Sar
4.) Seaman

- Dudek is a good goalkeeper as well but every year he seems older and more tired that`s why he`s not on the list.

Also Bernard Lama (FR) was a good GK - and how can I forget the legendary penalty kick saver Andreais Kopke..

Yes,the keepers on this list WERE all once good, but they are ALL past it.....And yes,Casillas and Buffon are as good as Seaman and Van Der Sar once were.....Yes,most keepers, such as the above two,in ten years time will be among the greatest ever to grace the earth,a keeper can't reach his peak until his mid-thirties....I mean Kahn couldn't get into the Germany team until 2001,by which time he was 32!!
Also, keepers such asSeaman didn't really peak until they were over 30

I think we are all forgetting one person... Cudicini. Definately the best GK in the premiership @ the moment. And one of the best in Europe, if not the world.

No,No,No,like Toldo, one of the most talented, yet one of the most inconsistent...........so no.Yes superb, but consistency makes keepers such as Tim Howard,Antti Niemi and others better than him

7 clean sheets in a row seems pretty consistent to me. Last mistake i can think of is the one against Arsenal. Where he had just made an amazin save just before. Definately the best in the Prem. Much better than howard and Niemi.

I don`t like this (modern world) that`s going on today..Football was much better 10 - 15 years ago with better storylines - etc. I forgot to mention T.Howard is a very good goal keeper with good reflexes.

OMG! The last time this thread was posted was in 2003? Well. Welcome to 2005 gentlemen. Howard isn't as consistent as he was. Petr Cech conceeded the least goals for Chelsea, knocking Cudicini to the bench.

Zygalski,
Tell me because I've only joined up for half a month, but what went on between 2003 & 2005? I thought this thread should be hot as topic with new keepers coming into the frame.

I think Jasper can help me on my GK skills, but he hasn't been online for a LONG time. Do you know any other actual GK's in the member list, or anyone who cursor lock on GK like I do?
