Keeper kicks and manual passing frustration

Well yeah, i have the pro evo 3 on the ps2 (with stutter).

I'm practicing the moves and I find it great that u can use the R1 and R2 buttons to move freely when the ball is coming to you.

There are however 2 things that really annoy me.

1) Keeper kicks.

When the keeper kicks the ball in the field it goes all the way down the opponents field (like 3/4 of the whole field). I find this very annoying coz sometimes I just want to kick around the midfield line so my midfielders can control the ball. Am i doing something wrong ?

2) Manual passing.

Now you have to press the R3 button and then move the stick to do a manual pass. As i was a big fan of the manual passing i find this very difficult to do and my passes never come to the place i want them to be (compared to PES2).

What's the best thing to do for this ? I usually press it down and then try to hold it in the right direction for the right amount of time.

Extra) Crosses.

Most of the time when i do a normal cross (1x circle) the ball goes reallllyy high in the air making the attack go slower or the keeper to come forward and intercept the ball. In PES2 you could change the height with L or R controls (forgot coz i didn't use it much). Is there a solution for this in PES3 ?

Thnx in advance

The cross. Put circle twice. You get a much faster ball en it aint going so high. Great for volleys and to fly the ball in with youre head.(dont know how to say that :p) ciao

I thought that 2x circle makes a first post cross....

that's what its called but it just means the ball goes in between knee and shoulder height, if you tap Ox3 you get a cross about 2inches off the ground, perfect for ripping half volleys

Let's get this straight once and for all. It's easier to do a manual pass by first choosing the direction and then holding down the R3 button.

I once saw a vid of a goal kick in WE7 which went straight through to the other keeper who caught it. Don't know how it was done though.

I think it's purely random.

I have two methods for taking goal-kicks. Firstly, I use [] if I want to get some mega-distance on the ball, and, usually, it works. Other then that I use O. Try pressing it for longer or shorter times and see if that makes a difference.

Crosses are much more floaty, unfortunately. The only remedy I can conjure up is for you to try your crosses by cutting in first and pressing O twice, as aforementioned. That will tend to get a near perfect height for a swooping header.

With manual passing, move the direction you want to pass in FIRST, then press it down :)

Are you Zyg's echo? :p
