Keeping the ball down!!!!

Hi y'all. I'm new to this forum so I may be asking an old question or maybe I'll never get the hang of this game. When taking a shot at goal from the edge of the box or just outside, how do you keep the ball low? Whenever I press the square button, if only for a fraction of a second the ball flies off over the bar. There's probably a simple answer(please) and I'm finding this problem really infuriating.

Thanks very much for your constructive reply. You are obviously a considerate kind of person. I will indeed "go away" and I won't forget your answer quickly.

just tap it once or twice depending on how far you are out. for the box area a tap does it for me. if ur running onto a ball shoot first time too.

if u press r2 and turn onto your strikers good foot, using that, his body will be set up for the shot. hold in r2 while hitting your shot is more accurrate too, its a side foot shot.

hpe that helps

I think almost everyone had this problem in the beginning.

Just practice, maybe with players who have middle shooting stars, and eventually you will get the hang of it.

If your playing with crap players get used to it. But if your not holding 'UP' on the 'D-Pad' or Holding R2. If the players are slightly facing away, loss of balance or weaker foot it the shot will fly high, wide and not very handsome.

Take your finger off the direction button and the shot usually goes along the ground id nearly have to show you but try that.My problem is getting the shots high

Everything comes with practice...by trying out one long shot after another enables you to gauge what is the correct amount of strength you should pack behind your shots.

drift to the stronger side of the foot and tap the shoot button, simple.

So if hes right footed, drift to the right and vice versa for left footers.
