How do you calculate these stats? Are they averages of the stats of the said players in your ML files?

Do you play on PC?

I do play on PC, but those are just the peaks of their potential development curves (visible at "Team Information" -> "Development Sheet" in ML or "Negotiations -> My Team -> *last page of player info*"). Nothing fancy going on. I got bored and bought every last Newcomer I could find, all the while logging their information. :^|

I beg your pardon?
Awesome list.
Bos, Shaw, Kaiser, Merino and Wolf are some of my faves. Sign them on every game...

Man, I play Kaiser at AMF and he is a total beast, leads the league in assists and goals. Don't know why but he just keeps on getting goals. Very high mentality as well, he is my captain. Probably the best young talent together with bos. But some players work for some and other players work for other people, but for me Kaiser is a fucking hero.

I play him as a Right Winger working on his pace as i am with Bos(RB) so they can both beast up that side of the field.

What a great post! It's always exciting mid-season to see which of these guys will pop up in the newcomers list.

BOS has got to be one of my favourites. I first started playing with PES 5 and found him and he was brilliant. Superb on the defensive line, but even better in the DMF role. Pounds them in from long range consistently!

I already posted this query in the Editing section, but does anyone know if you can Edit these fictional players (i.e. change boots etc.). I like to personalize all my guys, but can't figure out how to find these fictional players in the Edit menu??

If you can not find them in edit menu, I will have to presume they are amongst the hidden ranks of PES along with the teams you play against end of season the superstar teams and such, these teams/players can not be edited from the edit menu as far as i am aware

No I don't think you can, which sucks because I play with a team who have all black boots which makes it more bland lol

You'd have to find where they are stored in the game code to edit them, which means you might need a hex editor (and to know how to use it!), depending on how/where they're stored.

Thanks for the reply boys! I didn't think you could make the change via normal Edit Mode. That would be a nice addition for next year. I always have a bunch of these Konami players on my team wearing the boring black boots like Dotty says. Kinda licks. And there is no way I could figure out how to use a hex editor. Took me forever just to figure out how to import mp3's, so I'll live with the black boots and boring goal celebrations!

hi guys, really nice thread. i only buy the newcomers and retired ex-arsenal legends to add to my arsenal ML side and never go for any other players, so this is really interesting to see all the names together, i've signed most of those players at one point or another if their stats looked any good. but it's funny how it's always the same players in the different versions of pes....

think it's fair to say that it's only the ones off the list who have a number over about 92 are really going to shine and be of any use in the squad, and even then, some of them will take a long time to get anywhere close to being able to play 90 mins of a game (chapi / shimizu for example)

does anybody here know if any of these newcomers do particular moves, say the elsastico or cruyff turn? can't think of any myself...

Hmm not really just because some players have high rating doesn't mean they're better, Fernandez the French CB is cracking i think he peaks at 88. He's probably one of the best in the game.

Chapi is all right but he's so one footed, and Shimizu lacks in balance and agility so he's crap.

yeah but is he as good as bianchi and palmieri and bos for example? don't want to be misinterpreted as saying they are good because they have high ratings, it's just a "bizarre" conincidence that the ones i've tried (most of them, they are the same in all versions of pes for the last 4 years at least) who are actually worth playing with are over 92 rating. seeing as i would only need a max of 2 players per position that pretty much discounts using any of the others, even if that means passing over some of them who are still very good players, like fernandez.

can you answer the question i asked about the moves these players can do?

Where's the fun in always buying and playing with the same guys? Bos is so godly, I've started getting bored of playing with him. I still buy him, though, just so the CPU can't get him! :^|

Besides, every player is different and can bring his own qualities to a team. Makes you mix up your play, too, because you really do have experiment to learn how they play and how to utilize them correctly.

Jean, for instance. He hits 90 on his peak, but starts with like 60 stamina, which is seemingly worthless. However, he's like 6'6" or 7", and has great defense, acceleration and response (especially for his size), even at 17. Train his stamina in the off-season, and he's a god at CB after a few years. There is no such thing as a loose ball with him around, not to mention his tackling is absolutely transcendental. ALWAYS in the right position.

Fernandez becomes a great, solid CB. He's not a raging dynamo like Bos, and he's not a battering ram like Bianchi, but he's quite balanced. He'll grow well into the 90s on his curve with steady playing time.

Gunther will tear attackers' souls apart for a few seasons. He can get body balance to 99 if he plays enough and/or you train it.

Prandini becomes maybe the most balanced striker in the game. At least 90s almost all the way down the line.

Duffy is a pit bull. He's tiny, but he's omnipresent on the pitch. Nobody gets stuck in as much, except maybe Bradley.

Chapi is brilliant if you can put him through. He's never going to do anything as a lone striker, but, once he turns 19 or 20, start playing the ball to his feet or for him to run on to, and he'll get goals all day.

Shimizu, otoh, needs space to operate. Play him in the hole so he can pick up balls at the top of the area, and he'll do his job. I generally don't like him out wide, though his speed makes it tempting to play him there. Make room for him to shoot or pass.

Cats like Orellano, Moulin, and Khumalo, all of whom have lousy condition stats, seem useless at first, but once they get some time to grow, they're capable of incredible feats. (If any newcomers have the moves you're talking about, it'd probably be them. Look for high technique, agility, and dribbling skills.)

However, all of this depends on how long you like to take your MLs and what your goals are. I usually play for 10+ seasons, so experimenting with different players makes life more interesting. I also get to actually experience more of them at or near their peaks than if I just played 5 seasons or so.
