In FIFA 11 you can do it.

Although I love this game to bits, wouldn't hurt to introduce them.

They're useless in Fifa 11 too apart from pissing people off as someone above mentioned!

My mate used to do them all the time when I went to his flat so I just used to crush him with the old ping pong passing and tapping the shoot button when 1 on 1. What a lame game!
