Killer Long Pass

With a player such as Roberto Carlos who has a high long pass acc. and spd. you can deliver a killer long ball.

When in your own half and approaching the half-way line, check that your FW's are on-side, then hold down :L1: and hit :circle:. You'll send a ball just ahead of your FW, and if you run like hell you can take the ball and score with ease.

A fast FW such as Henry is an advantage.

It doesn't always work, the defence can be tough to beat, and if you over hit the ball the keeper will get it.

Once you get the hang of it you can score very quickly.
It works espessially well if the opposition is on red.

it seems similar to the chip through pass. what is the difference?

the diff. is that you can't really direct it. the :L1: + :circle: is defined as an 'early cross' that works anywhere on the pitch. it's usually directed to the far-post or the far striker in the p-box. whereas the :L1: + :circle: :circle: is near-post, and is also effective on a counter-attack. :)

yeah, i use this all the time.

i cant get it to work all the time, in fact i've only scored a handful using it, but that doesn't stop me from trying.

usually when i'm in the opponents half or near halfway i us L1 and /_\ Triangle.
once again i try a lot, but get the killer ball only a few times

(which is good)

Good tip. I struggle as I use L1 + Triangle for a chipped through pass...and mostly overhit or intercepted. Also my clearences from DF suck...I'm sure this will help!
