Konam should stop with the BAL

For real Konami can just scrap the BAL if they can't create an honest AI. When I bought the game I started with the BAL immediately. I haven't checked out ML yet. Just to show you how I'm dedicated to this BAL. But after playing 5 seasons winning two D1 league cup, One B1 league cup, the European Championship numerous MOM and MIP's and scored nearly 35 goals as an CF ( put it in there to show you I'm not bitter) I can honestly say that KONAMI SHOULD QUIT BAL.

Why?...

Simply because it's hard to place your position in the hands of a cheater and the AI BLATANTLY cheats:

1. When you Play the game your team can't make a decent pass, reach the backline, let alone give a DECENT cross. BUT when your substituted they play the ball around like super heroes.

2. Your defenders make the most unlogical decision ever. If PES is supposed to mimic real than reality is a joke. They Kick the ball out of play when a teammates stands right beside him with no AI player in 10 meters from him, but still the player with the ball kicks the ball out of play when pressured.

Goalies dive to a ball when the ball clearly goes wide.

Attackers help the AI defend when a corner is taken..I have that one on replay in case someone says it ain't so and attack as well.

Defenders play the ball towards the goallie when an Ai attackers stands right there or try to do a combination in the 16 instead of kicking the ball out of there

There absolutely no backup during a counter may'be only 2 or 3 players run with you and the others just chill in the back, whilst the other way around when the AI attacks only the goallie and two defenders are in the back..the rest is on your half..

3. Eventhough your stats improve you still don't see a difference between you and AI players with lesser stats.

4. Goalies ..OMG..when a sureshot shot is heading towards them they makes the most crazy saves..but some easy ball the make the DUMBEST mistakes which usually leads to a goal.

I can go on and on..but

HOW COME AFTER SOOOO MANY YEARS , SEABASS AND POSSE CAN'T SEEM TO CREATE A BETTER AI. THE SAME THINGS HAVE OCCURED THE LAST 3 VERSIONS AND THEY GOTTEN WORSE..IS IT SOOOOO HARD TO CREATE A DECENT AI....:fplm:

Your the only person on these forums that has had a proper dig at the BAL mode.

You need to play at high difficulty (top player)... I know allot of people that complain about the AI either play beginner or regular. Top player in BAL will kick your ass and your team mates will play even better (not perfect, just better)

I don't think is bad, i like it. goalies don't seem inconsistent to me, and I can tell a difference in the stats. I couldn't do anything with my midfielder, and now he outruns some people and I can dribble and shoot better.

I have never seen a defender pass to the goalie yet (I'm on my 3rd season).

And by the way, I'm on my 3rd season and I've only scored 8 total goals or so, 15 assists or 16, and best position is 9th. Maybe you should bump up the difficulty because your complaints of the game are things I haven't seen once, and they're on the top dificulty.

By the way, half of my goals were headers from crosses from the computer. I'm not saying this to be a prick, but really, bump up the dificulty.

As I made note of in the FAQ thread, the AI is not great at all and you need to take steps to help out. The team take its cue from you, if you stand around and barely make a pass, they play terrible. If you dont help out at all the team get flustered and make mistakes.

However if you get in amongst the play, and help break up attacks and play a pressing game against defences then the team follow suit. Im in my 5th season with BAL in TP, and I am having a great time with it. Im playing as a AMF and have learned CMF and SS positions. My stats are not great but I can play footy now, and I am the linch pin in the team. When I play the team play great, but when im subbed or missed a match they play crap.

In my second season at Torino every single time I was subbed the team would go on to loose the game or only scrape a draw when we were well ahead. So it really depends on the level of difficulty you play it at and the position you play in.

To be fair he does speak some truth, the AI can be extremely frustrating at times (I only ever play on top player). I did get that solid feeling of if im not on the pitch, my team plays opposite to how we do when I'm on; but that was at my first few clubs. Now i'm at inter it doesnt happen so much, you just have to realise that it does have its drawbacks and you have to play your position to the best of your ability to help, then you get good results.

yes the AI is very frustrating, but surely u must know what positions to get in to score a goal after 5 seasons. and play on TOP PLAYER.

I know it depends onthe position your playing but when I'm playing CF and I need to help out on midfield and in the back my stamina will evaporate in 2 seconds.

Sometimes YOU NEED to help out but it's more when the ball in in your area but when i need to run all the way back ..I'm like WTF why do I have teammates than. If you pass on to a teammate and they keep f*cking up and losing the ball it's annoying.

I've tried my hands on TOP PLAYER B4 in previous versions only to find out that the AI is cheating more on that level. That's why I stick with regular because it's more balanced out but it's still too much at times.

And I haven't even begun about the referee's...and speaking of the ref..WHY DO I KEEP SEEING THE SAAAAAME REF TWO VERSIONS IN A ROW...AREN'T THERE ANY OTHER RACES DOING IT..

The difference between the AI cheating in ML ( where you control 11 players ) and in BAL where you control only 1 is significantly important for the end result

In a way, I KIND OF agree with you. I get signed in January by a team thats 5th, and finish 16th. This keeps happening...

BUT, it is the most addictiver new feature, and I love it.

Give them one more year to perfect it at least, it's bloody good as it is.

You do realise you can use the R2 button to help defend? If you hold the R2 button whilst defending (without sprinting) your player will face the ball, using the pressure button makes your player run after the ball.

I use the R2 button allot as it makes it so much easier to intercept passes, and its great for robbing the ball off players.

I hate the cheating. It HAPPENS IN EVERY GAME. PES IS INCLUDED. The AI is proven to cheat countless of times. But that's not a reason for them to quit BAL.

I'm addicted to BAL! Just think you should play Top Player difficulty as what others have said. You can't expect the A1 to be perfect man! And pleaseee stop whining!! We should all appreciate what Konami is doing! I can't believe the amount of people complaining how bad PES 09was....
