Konami/Japan and the PES series

I have a question..
I've played all four versions of PES on the PS2 and even though the game is made by a Japanese games developer and most of them are daubed in JFA Logo's and stuff how come they don't include the J League as one of the selected leagues?
I assume that its because in Europe not many people know too much about the J League but its covered alot this year on Sky Sports 1 so why not include the teams .. heck it might even brighten some peoples knowledge of football? Some of the talented players to emerge for Japan like Hidetoshi Nakata and shunsuke Nakamura surely promote the quality Japan are trying to put out there..?
Another question i wanted to ask was i've heard of something called the Nippon challenge on WE whats this and why isnt it on PES?
So hey i figured also i'd like to see Konami put Iceland, Belarus, Israel, Georgia, Cyprus and Bolivia on the International team selection.

you might wanna delete your 2nd post...

I don't know why the j-league isn't included but I think you're right in saying that it could widen people's knowledge. I think they have focussed on the bigger Europpean teams for the market, and got more and more as the games have evolved. Isn't base-ball the main sport in Japan though? I know football is getting more and more popular over there....

Well In response to Kevthedrummer I havent been to Japan so i dont know what the number one sport is i just assumed after them co-hosting the WC they (Japan and Konami) might have made a bigger effort in the PES series to promote.. in all fareness Ive watched the J League on sky sports 1 and the torrential rain they play on makes the pitch and ball react totally different to the rain we get in UK. (and we get alot of rain)
In all this counts to an added experience as some of the goals scored are quite ... shocking .. not that you dont see them in Europe or anything but the weather and style of football is different as is the football experience.

The J-League doesn't suck, remember what happened to ManUtd and Real Madrid? they both got spanked, the J-League is far from crap.

Thats actually a great point...I had never thought of that before....

Would be cool to see a few of the bigger teams in like Urawa Reds and Gamba Osaka etc in PES

I'm interested in the Japanese league, too, but it's just not worth their time or effort. Even Japanese players want to play as Barcelona and Man Utd, they're more interested in where the worlds best football is being played, rather than their own. So like how most people in England support a Premiership side, rather than wanting to see their local Doctor Martens League division C side play Nuneaton Borough.

They released Winning Eleven 8 J-league Asia Championship, anyway. Wouldn't that do?

Hmm.. good point mate but i assumed that Konami wouldn't have half as much trouble lurring the J League teams to a soccer game than they would tying up a deal with one of the big Italian, Spanish or English Teams.

Maybe so but i never said they'd choose Kashima Antlers over Barca did I? I stated that the adverse weather conditions and the type of rain and style of football would add to the games longevity and give a different football experience while possibly broadening peoples knowledge of the game.

Different Styles of Football

This is really where i think Konami have to aim.. I'm a massive football fan and love watching different nations play. I've watched a Season of Germam Football when i used to have satellite tv and i noticed even though the basic elements of footie remain the same the styles of football played in each country is different.
Thats why i'd be pleased to see Konami lead the line with this J League thing too! After all the developer is from the same country... Would it be that difficult an option?
The approach and preparation Japan and South Korea shown in the last world cup proved what i'm trying to say.. the styles are different and much like when you play the cpu on a computer game the match with a human controlled team is different because he has a tactic or style of play that he thinks he can win with.
The differing match conditions and crowd reactions can play a part too.. Konami have started this progress slowly.. when i played the English league on PES4 the chants were different to that of the Serie A Chants.. which is how it should be.. and when i played a Serie A match the Rome Derby AS Roma VS Lazio.. the Olimpico's track was soaked with rain and the game played and felt very much like that of Channel Fours Football Italia.. which most of us know Peter Brackley done the commentary on for some time.. Konami have started slowly they need to pick up on this maybe not for PES5 but certainly for future releases before another rival developer pips them to it!

Well I dont think that its rubbish....Look at some of the players that league has produced compared to the Danish leagues. Also Kashima Antlers beat Man Utd 2-1 (albeit it was Pre-season). I happen to think a few of the larger teams from the J-League would be a great addition to PES.

what are u saying? that manchester lost a match against that team doesnt say that they are good, i mean cmon, who is really interested in those kind of leagues?
you don't know the players so why is it even fun to play with those teams, i can't imagine it would rlly..

More teams = Better Gaming

J League to make the PES Game better.

This is a fact.. United did lose to Antlers in Japan in Pre-Season and although it was a friendly it was still a great game of football.. my opinion on this subject is based on the fact that Konami are a japanese games developer and Japan and s.korea co-hosted the world cup so it surprised me when at least two or three of the J League teams weren't on PES4 yet they managed to get AEK Athens and Cruzeiro on the game?

Old Firm Blue says: -League teams would make PES better...FACT!!!!

Yes i agree with this.. but only if Konami make it feel like your playing against a different style of team.. OP2M review says Konami have aimed for that with Inter Milan, both DM's sit in front of the back four making it difficult to break down the team.
Imagine in ML pre season being able to do a pre-season tour with Real Madrid playing in torrential rain in Japan against three of their top teams isn't that more like what goes on in todays footballing world?
As far as i'm concerned Konami neglecting to include the J League is whats known in footballing terms as an own goal.

I say:.. I don't know the players.. Hmm.. thats odd.. oh well here goes mate.. Hidetoshi Nakata.. Born January 22 1977 so that makes him 3 years older than me.. He's 28 and played for Perugia.. AS Roma.. Parma and Fiorentina in Italy's top division serie A..Hidetoshi Nakata was named Asian Player of the Year in both 1998 and 1999.

Shunsuke Nakamura Born 24 June 1978 he's 27 and has played for Yokohama, Reggina (on pes4 his freekicks are great) and recently signed for Celtic in July this year he plays in midfield for Japan and has scored 12 times for his country.

Yeah.. I guess you must be right then.. i dont know those players at all.
