Many good points made here. I am admittedly a noob to the PES/WE games. Yes, I used to play FIFA, but once I heard of WE8I and got it, FIFA was DONE!!

I agree with many of your comments and look forward to any positive changes KONAMI makes to the game, but I will reserve my rant(s).

I love ML, it's great, but more realism in Cups, Teams, etc. would be great!!

i tink u've got a brilliant idea... i esp like soccerplaya480 of having ticket sales... i tink we shldn't have borders of how much a club can earn... if u're popular enough... u really shld have more cash from attendance increase!!! and yeah... the currency in the game really kind of let down... we will love to see more zeros and millions in it... instead of just thousands that wun send the heart of us, ordinary people's heart racing...

As for competition wise.. hopefully we can see drawings in group for the championship be in seeded form and not meet fellow teams from the same league... it will be pointless to fight thru a season to qualify for the european premier competition and playing teams from the same league again.. maybe they can have a all-time record goal scorer for the championship..

I oso wish to see my statistic being tabulate and analyse... like club record's attendance, goal scorer, most appearance, most assist, etc.... and maybe in the league, the record cupholder and all time top scorer or even the highest transfer fee paid...

I think that the only way to push KONAMI to make these improvements is in our hands, WE SHOULD NOT BUY their products, maybe then they can realize that something is going wrong..otherwise these improvements will be available for our nephew’s

Sorry for my English

I don't think that's such a good idea...

I think Konami staff do frequent forums but they must be japanese sites full of kids that know jack shit about footie and/or aficionados that are only keen on the actuall game engine and not too fussed about league and championship detail. I'm also sure they get gygabytes of e-mails with suggestions and complaints, which they surely ignore.
I also think that they want to retain some of what they think made the series succesful and keep the Master League as it is because they reckon it was one hell of an original idea...
Master League...That's probably something they came up with while smoking a fat joint one day and they thought it was brilliant when in fact it was just silly. It should have been changed to Career Mode or League Mode or something other, ages ago.

Anyway, the name has very little to do with how the league actually works, so i digress...

yes yes yes, that was it! stats! haka09 is totally right. the stats thing has pissed me off for years. why when you have a master league where you have 3 competitions only record goals in the league for overall season results in your stats! i've had midfielders that have scored 20goals in a season but only got credit for 9 when i've looked back on it a few seasons down the line. i want to know how many goals my players have scored in all competitions

A lot of valid points here. The thing is where do you stop? I think we'd all love a game like Football Manager but with playing in the games added but that's just impossible as of right now. In a way I love how simple the ML is. When I play Football Manager, it does all get pretty complex and to me the ML in WE is refreshingly basic. But I would love to see changes to competition formats to closer reflect real life. I think it's weird that 6th place out of 16 can get into the champions league. They should have no more than 4 from each league be able to get into the CL and then you'd never have to play someone from your league in the group stages. Replacing money with points would be easy but then people would complain that the monetary amount for a certain player was too high or low. I think fatigue & int callups need looking at because it's just dumb right now. I also wish there was some way to look at your squad's overall appearances, goals, assists, ratings & cards instead of them being listed per competition. The OP said that good players who get left out of the team should get unhappy and want to leave etc. Yes that would be more realistic but it makes me shiver thinking about the game taking that route. The thing is though if they had all these things as options when you started a ML, everyone would be happy.

I am glad that Konami focuses more on gameplay than on licensing and career mode but they are getting left behind in these areas which is why I think they will improve them next time round. Thank goodness for FIFA! If there was no competition they wouldn't try as hard!

Yup, interesting points made here, killercam.. I have exactly the same experiences with transfers: world no. 1 club (i.e. mine!) makes a bid for a player who will become the best paid player on the scene plus a substantial offer for the club holding the player.. and is turned down??? huh?! repeatedly.. that's a no-go.

That said, I do believe the people at Konami have their antennas out for communities like this.. the guys are pros - as we have seen playing their product for years! They live and breathe for this game just like we do.. some times it's just not so easy to get all the little things included in the game as you may want to.. deadlines, cost, competition etc.etc. there are many good reasons to ship a product even though you would like to make the perfect version.. and I'm sure they do! And of course we will continue to buy the game even after this perfect version is out.. updates, gameplay, graphics, new licenses etc. are all good enough reasons for me..

Other things to mend in the future would include:

Free kicks
CPU gets away with way too many things and I can't touch someone without the whistle..

Power
As a supplement to the form arrows I imagine an elaborated home-and-away weighting, hence your team would play 'better' (overall) on the home turf, but have a far harder game on their hands playing away.. surely this would be possible.. just add +/- 5-10 pct. performance ..

Read on konami -great game

WTF is that post all about?I thin you should play Fifa instead you tedious moron, it's good fun playin ML on 6 stars and the flaws you pick out ain't even nothing worth worrying about. It's easy to make transfer 90% of the time the CPU makes worthwhile transfers and on Pro Evo 5 I have found that predominantly the WEFA championship is mixed up although sometimes you have a team for your league in your group bla bla BIG DEAL!!!!!! what sort of mug writes an essay criticising a concept that for me has been one of the best video games of a generation.

i agree with points made but you cannot scrap it completely. you need some form of transfer season mode. my main gripe is that you cannot play in snow in the ml, there is no proper calender so its impossible to tell the weather conditions to adjust the ball to and also the top 4 get a chance to play in c,league in reality, so why in ml is it the top 6 or something. it would be quite good to see the draws of competitions being made like they did on the lma manager games. it added to the tension when you saw the balls being drawn out of the hat.

Yea great response

What did I say to you to call me a tedious moron and a mug. I've simply pointed out the weak spots in the master league which 90% of this and other forums agree with. If you don't like them fair enough but it looks like your in the minority dude. some people like myself want to see a relalistic game made by Konami - It's not as if the ideas are hard to implement. I feel at this present moment we're stuck in a rut with a couple of new updates every year here and there.

I'm not denying the fact this it has been one of the best games of it's generation in fact it's the best football game ever to be made but if you take your tounge out of Konami's arse for one second you will realise that there's room for improvement.

1) Players need to get unhappy if they don’t play. In a season I had words class players sitting on the bench. Ronaldo only managed to play about 10 games – do you think he’ll stand for that – come on, at then end of the season he was begging for a new contract because his contract was in it’s last year so I gave him 10 more pts and he was happy. Yea real realistic Konami.

This is somthing I've bought up with my mates, some of them have quality players wasting away on the bench because they want these super teams.

Although It's an option to have a squad of super stars it would be good to see some of them want out if they aren't playing as much as they should.

Some good points there killercam.

I hope they sort out some of these problems, but most importantly improve the football, especially the AI.

You can't compare it to simulation management games and that's where your expectations should end.

FFS, obviously your thick and you don't understand.

Why was it stupid?

It's simple, there are some people here who just don't give a monkeys about the technicalities of the PES games.

I for one, think you've made some very good points.

I agree that ML need better improvement than just the likes of offering candy to kids like improvements that they have had in these past 2 years especially. I used to look forward to starting a ML with the new version of winning eleven, (or PES on PC till WE comes out here). And honestly, i haven't even started one this year. It's getting old the way it is. I would like some changes to make it more realistic in some ways such as transfers, player morale and couple other things mentioned in the main post. But while doing all that, we shouldn't lose the simplicity of the ML. As much as I love football, I don't like to go through all the details of a football manager game where you have to analyze a lotta numbers, I want to jump into the game itself as quickly as possible. But i still want to feel like managing the club rather than just the coaching. It would be very nice to have simple but more depth in the financial department, such as making sponsor deals and arranging ticket prices.
transfer negotiations would be nicer if i was actually able to feel like i am negotiating, as in when i get declined for what i offer, i should be able to discuss terms and see what the player wants improved in my offer, not wait another week and make another blindfolded offer.
there are other things that i wish from time to time, but these are the ones i can think of right now. and i still like the game as it is, still the best out there. and that's why konami doesn't really feel like they have to read these posts and work extra, we buy it anyways don't we?
