Because they have lifes.

And here was me thinking that the Master League was what made the PES games what they are today.

I have a life too in case you didn't realise.

But that doesn't mean that I don't care about the technicalities and errors in PES5.

I bought the game as do so many others here (and have been buying these games sice ISS Pro on the Playstation). But we should be expecting Konami to pull their finger out when it comes to these sort of things.

It's not like it's impossible to make these changes. They have the correct staff and they're now getting the funds. So what's Konami's problem?

Basically, there are some serious deficiencies in the Master League. They can't expect us to continue buying their games if they keep crapping up parts of the game.

Just my opinion.

I think if you all try to make it into Championship Manager + Pro Evo then you will all regret it once you have to spend 10 mins finallising a squad for one match. Logical improvements would be:
Synchronisation of all top flight leagues with international matches.
Revamping the fatigue issue.
Little things like that, but definitely not scrapping ML and making a new one. Something like what FIFA is up to now.

You are absolutely right....
But I think Konami should do is:
Remove the current ML and upgrade the normal Leagues to form a complete football season, with all leagues runing at the same time.
Just an idea

Still that is not enough, we need something more exciting. It is getting boring and repetitive. Having real leagues of 2 divisions with all teams is great, but something else has to be added to make it more realistic + fun. Not necessarily turning the game into a Football manager/ pes combo.
Like the transfer system for example, why can't we have negotiations instead of fixed offers? etc..

i cant stand football management games... they are crap and too boring, it should not be changed too much maybe a lil tweaking with the leagues n that but thats it. Leave all the mamagement stuff to the actual management games. Instead of moaning about its lack of managerial detail go play champ manager? gotta love the ML, even if you do play against too many teams from your own league in the wefa championship.
i play online mostly now anyways so i couldnt really care less. Could do with real team names tho... maybe this should be aded onto the pes6 suggestions thread as a sort of extension lol

haven't read all the replys but some good points were made. I love pro evo and started with iss on ps1 but the master league dosn't interest me. Its not realastic. I have the championship option file so played through that, im a palace fan, won it created a league called it premiership and included palace, reading and sheff utd (the 3 teams that actually got promoted in my league. Its much better cos u can make the proper transfers when they happen and you dont end up with crap players at good teams.

i agree totally with everyone and i think everyone will agree that they have to revamp it all for the next gen consoles and to the person who said all this memory it will take well look at the ps3 it will be on blu ray discs that means that on the disc there is going to be 50gb of memory for games so they havent really got anything to say if they make the same game with better graphics on the ps3 because the disc is big enough to fit everything everyone wants on it and more, seeing as tho the current disc only hold 5gb roughly. defo needs new things in pro evo, to make it abit more fun

i completely agree with killercam the whole thing is completly unrealistic, they should get real leages real cups and another thing about the transfer i havnt had 1 offer for any of my top players just the maybe 1 offer for like my crappest player why dont u get offers for everyone and you should have real money instead of points who the hell come up with the points idea i think it is completly bollocks!!

I won't regret it. That is what I want. Master League rules and has been steadily improving in the decade since Vorlander first pulled on his boots. Maybe the next-gen consoles with their hard-drives will have the storage for all the stats and stuff you get in CM (FM now, obviously) but I personally think that all the evolution in ML has been superb. At first the idea of buying players was a welcome throwback to Sensible World of Soccer (with the same problem... no ageing). So they introduced ageing and improving skills throughout careers. Genius! In PES 5 they've made players improve over a longer period of time, which makes sense.

I agree that the competition structure is flawed and that identical regens of retired players isn't ideal, but for me (in agreement with an earlier post) ML is the real way to play Pro Evo. I also like that starting with the ML players is old skool difficult.

First post here I think. Respect to the Seabass Lovers.

Isn't most of the Master League stuff being addressed in "Pro Evolution Management?"

The master league is meant to be there for you to try your skills on - personally, its too easy at times...

Some of it is wrong, but we wont stop playing it :)

i totally agree with u on nearly all of those points, yhe transfer system is a times ridiculas, real madrid signed rammage and fulham signed gerrard:shocking: . It would aslo be good if other clubs made bids for your big players and contested you in the ransfer market for players. I also agree with you on the ML front, it ridiculas and irritating when you draw teams from your onw country, one of the thing i look forward to when i get in the champs league is playin across europe and facing different teams and having new challenges rather than playing a team that ive played twice already. I also too hate the fact you play in daylight in the group stages, konami get so much right that no other football game would even think about and then miss out things like that, research could be done to improve certain aspects of the game. Another point i would like to mention is why when you play big team do they not play there biggest players, if you win you dont feel that you thouroughly deserved the victory and its really fucking annoying. The master league is still great fun but its time the changes are made but i dont think they will be in the next version of the game.

Haven't read all the posts here, but they should also add a way to switch teams in ML and if you do really well, a chance to manage a national team. You could check out the new talent and make a squad to win the world cup with.

Why don't you send that post to Konami?

That's actually a very good idea you know. I know I wouldn't mind taking over a national team.

I noticed that France and Spain have have quite a few promising youngsters when you start a new Master League game.

I very much like the idea of winning the World Cup with a team that's maturing into becoming international superstars.

I don't know if anyone's pointed this out yet (I apologise if it has already been mentioned) but what's really annoying me in the Master League is how you always have to play the same team twice in a row in two separate competitions.

Has anyone noticed for example; you play AS Roma in your Master League match (aka Italian League) but then you play them again in the next match in the D1 Cup. :realmad:

It's so annoying.

I'm another one who is not a big fan of management games - i play PES5 because it is the best recreation of real football you can buy. I don't want it to get too overcomplicated, i just want to play football without being bombarded with loads of stats and figures. Leave that to Champ Man and the upcoming PES Manager.

The main problem with PES is that it gets blown out of the water by FIFA in terms of presentation, licenses and dare i say it a little bit of common sense that you don't get from Konami (were on PES5 and still no Bernanbeu?). As we move towards next gen consoles, then presentation is going to become all important. Unlicensed kits on the PS3 with your shiny new HD TV will be a bit of an embarrasment, and the Master League is a pre-historic concept that goes back to ISS Pro Evolution, when there was only a handful of club teams. The ML made sense then, But now we have 6 full leagues and a load of other European sides, why cant PES copy FIFA - no sorry, copy REAL LIFE and have a proper REAL WORLD league system. It annoys the shit out of me.

i'm not the biggest management fan either but, since we have to make money in the master league, i think finance should be made more realistic. like itemization of income and expenses better, and more realistic. such as not a single payment to all your players at the beginning of season, but weekly income and expenses, weekly salaries. and maybe get bankrupt if you can't manage your money. it should still make an end of year balance estimate to see where you're heading, to make things easier.

I think the original was a great post. Also please read my PES6 suggestions posts, they are also sensible I think and attainable, unlike half the other pointless crap peple have suggested.

One gripe I always have.. that would improve the game loads, and it should be EASY.. why the hell not add loads more teams, not 5 a year? I mean, its only a small amount of data, surely? And so what? We'd all gladly pay a dollar, pound or euro more for an extra disc! Why not have the top two leagues from at least all of europes big countries, licensed or not? And all national teams more or less should be easy, too. Its just so simple, I don't understand why they don't. I mean, I don't even care that much about licenses, we all patch or option file it better anyway, and those who moan clearly fail to understand the licensing agreements and arrangements. Its not that simple.

I agree that loads more teams should be added. But is it a question of disc space? I've heard that the game is written 4 times onto the DVD (one for each language). Does this cripple the disc space meaning we only get small updates? Or are Konami just lazy?

it's definately not space. it's a matter of laziness and not getting things complicated issue by konami probably, considering that licenses don't stop them putting teams in there. If sensible world of soccer had the whole world in there, anything in the current gen consoles can have all the players in the world, and you wouldn't have a problem in terms of space. I don't think it will happen before I quit playing video games, and that's a long time hopefully.
