Hello everyone, i have been looking at a few logs online about the problem with actually getting online to play pes6. Konami have came out and apologised about the problem at their end with their servers being the problem.....but as a Networker myself I know their could be a few other problems of why You cant play pes6 online.
Please read below because one of them could be stopping you from playing online.
Speed Of Connection

I work with internet every day, i configure networks for companies to use the internet.....alot of the problems people are having could be down to their isp......When People sign up to broadband these days you are always told "Up to 8mb" or up to "16mb" connection but in reality they could only be recieving.....3mb.....5mb....1 mb...The reason the signal differes depends on how far the user is away from the closest router.This itself is a problem for online play and i have given a brief overview why below.
Player A - - - - 2.2mb connect
Player B - - - - 8.0MB Connection
Konami Server Req "Roughy" ----- 1.8mb connection between both users.
If Player A has another system using the same connection e.g laptop then the isp will give that laptop a share of the 2.2 connection for instance 40% of the resources.leaving the Ps2 with 0.88 mb connection.This does not leave enough resources for a solid connection on the konami server and This is also why people keep getting disconnected from the network.
Resolution
A way of resolving this matter is to;
A: Dont connect any other system to the net while playing pes online
B: Go into the Management tools within your router or system software and make sure no other system gets to much resource if they connect.
C: Disable firewalls : this does not apply to all Firewalls but some may hinder ethernet connections to consoles
D: Not the best but upgrade your broadband connection
Other Factors

1. ISP does not support Ethernet connection withought buying their Router (Orange, Talk Talk are famous for this)
2. Wireless router has not been configured for your ps2

Konami - Pc Vs Ps2
Konami have promised that console users and pc users will be able to compete online using the same game.....this itself means alot of coding to convert signals from a pc game to a ps2 console....this issue itself could also play a part in the speed of your connection.Also the compatibility of the server may not be able to handle the conversion on a large scale so if their are to many pc vs ps2 conversions on the server it could kick everyone off
Resolution
Trusted users....stick to people who you know are using either PC or Ps2

Regional

As everyone found out when the OF where issued, pes6 is totally regional where as, french OF will only work on French systems otherwise it will appear as "Unknown" on a English based system.
This also applies to online......the theory is their but i have witnessed problems when trying to play foreign players.....this may just be a small issue and some of the other factors i mentioned may be to blame but this could be a issue.
