^Not excactly. Pes 09's shooting is realistic. I think it's a great side of pes 09. You can score long range goals but they are harder than previous games. You have to be running in full speed and then shoot at the right moment. You can score a long range goal. Actuall I can score those with my legend (in season 2+). I think you have to get used to it.
Agreed.. Shooting in PES09 is the best in any PES title. It still haves plenty of room for improvement, but it is the best Shooting to date.
Unfortunately, we have too much Space. And I'm not even talking about the Pace, it's more about the "Movement" or "Positioning". If players maintained themselves in "Constant Movement" the game would not feel as Slow and Unrealistic.
In fact, the Pace could even be slower, but if the off-the-ball movement is implemented correctly -- the game will feel faster and more realistic, because we would have much less time and space on the pitch.
Something that Konami did a better job with in PES6 and PES5, where the Pace is pretty much the same or maybe even slower, But because of the "constant movement" or the "better positioning" the game feels faster and more realistic.
Which is one of the biggest issues with PES09 -- too much Space and Time on the pitch. If one cannot get around that huge flaw, they will find PES09 a very boring, easy, and unrealistic Football Sim.
Plus the fact that, for some reason, the 8-Directional Movement doesn't feels as fluid and realistic as before. Now it feels (and looks) unrealistically "linear" and robotic-like. But at least we can say that the "Shooting" has improved if only slightly.
