Konami's secret WE9 message to patchers

but if everyone is paying konami for stuffs that requires to be liscensed, then konami may get themselves into trouble. Fifa may come along and get konami to court and tat would threaten the existence of WE and PES series.... that could be worse....

The problem is not about selling patched WE or PES games. The problem is selling pirated games itself... Even if there is no patches available, people will still buy the unpatched game from the pirates and the problem would be unsolved still.... So IMO, encrypting all the stuffs does not improve the situation a single bit, in fact it may deflect interest of people who wants to buy the original stuffs, due to the inflexibility to patch the game. So in the end its a lose-lose situation for konami and people like us in pesinsight. The only winners will be FIFA and still, the pirates...

We have to admit that the pirates are always miles in front of the system, and trying to beat them by stepping on konami's own leg would not help... Technology can't stop them, government prosecutors can't stop them, the only way is education.

Lets just hope konami gets all the license for the future installments and eliminate the need for patching, so the most there will be is just updates onto the option files.....

FIFA games are pirated as well, only thing is with WE/PES the patches are so good that theres a reason to get the latest pirated patched one.

In FIFA's case most of the club & kits licences are already there, so ppl only get 1 copy of pirated game. They don't bother with patched one.

Also FIFA only have one worldwide release a year, whereas KOnami have several regional releses thruought the year and each release has a slight difference thus whetting the appetite for fans to constanly get the latest.

Cheers.

My suggestion for unlicensed teams/kits/logos.

Konami create an in game database of:
all kit logos (Nike, Adidas, Umbro..)
all sponsor logos (Siemens, vodafone, O2 etc) this will be huge.
templates of common badges (complete with outlines and such)
templates for adboards
templates for balls
tempaltes for boots

(I mean if there is a Nike logo in game for Arsenal, why can;t I use this logo for another team e.g Holland or for a boot).

Since they can actually licence these images directly, i think it could be sorted out.

Then as far as unlicenced teams/items are concerned, its up to us players to mix match and do a slight editing to build all the correct kits for for these teams. Just have to pick the available items from the DB.

In this case I feel Konami do not infringe any licencing since its bot them but us players are creating those images.

I mean the Nike Korean kit is licenced. Brazil, Holland, Turkey, Mexico, and a host of other teams use the same kit.

Why don't leave the template in there (with the circle) and we can just use 'copy as base' the Korea kit, and edit the colours oursleves. Viola !! Brazil kit. Badges of course can be as per now, edit manually. But I mean 90% of the work would be a breeze..wouldn't it.

Cheers

guys,

I totally agree that selling patches which have been put together through other peoples hard work is very wrong, however let me put this problem to you...... If I can't download these patches because it would take 3 f**cking days, because I haven't got broad band....then I would buy a patched version for £5, from wherever I can get it....who wouldn't!?! Yes it maybe be morally wrong (could be argued tha creating a patch is morally wrong also!), but its a quick and easy way to play the best game with all the proper features, for just a fiver! The only solution is if patchers sell it themselves at a cheap price....that way they get money for there work and people will buy it from them because its affordable!
