Can't believe this one. Thought he was nailed on to sign for Spurs. Apparently we have an agreement where we have first option once his 2 year contract is up there. I knew selling them Jonathan Blondel and Paul-Jose M'poku would pay off some day.

Is this just a way of getting round the tribunal fee do you think or am I being overly cynical? I've seen stories saying United wanted 6 million in compensation.

I'm not sure I really understand why he left United when he did. Evra's been a bit meh recently, Fabio can't defend and Buttner hadn't arrived when all his contract malarkey was going on. As far as I can see he'd have as much chance of playing at United as at Tottenham. Maybe he'd been told he was surplus to requirements, maybe he wasn't offered a decent contract. I don't know. Seems like an odd one is all.

It doesn't seem like AVB is too fussed about Assou-Ekotto or Rose. I think Fryers would have been at least direct back up, and whilst the move was being touted, they still had Fabio too. It's all pretty strange and I definitely think there's more to it than there seems on the surface.
