1. Injury-
It is important that we are given an estimate of how long a player will be out of action at least for our planning purpose. A brief description of the player’s injury will be instrumental. Eg.hamstring injury, dislocated shoulder, broken kneecap etc.
It does tell you how long the player will be out for.

I have just sent another 20 suggestions to Joanne of Konami this evening.
Thought I share with you guys what I have written. Feel free to comment.
( I did not check my grammer though)

1. Injury-
It is important that we are given an estimate of how long a player will be out of action at least for our planning purpose. A brief description of the player’s injury will be instrumental. Eg.hamstring injury, dislocated shoulder, broken kneecap etc.

2. South American Teams
Bring back the South American Teams. The game is just not complete without these teams. Nothing can be more satisfying than to be a World Champ by beating every team in every part of the continent. Right now, we are European Champ at best.

3. Substitutes
Upon activating the sub, it would be great to be able to see the substitutes(CPU players as well) warming up on one corner before the ball goes out of play. The only exception is when a player gets injured and the substitution has to be done immediately.

4. Special Moves
Assign a dedicated button for flicking the ball and jumping simultaneously to avoid a sliding tackle especially during a high speed dribble. Also during a slow dribble, allow us to perform like what Blanco of Mexico did. Hold the ball between the legs and jump. Best performed in crowded situation.

5. As an added challenge, introduce pitches in all kinds of environment that affects players’ stamina and ball physics. Eg.
1. High altitude pitch in South America
2. Hard and parched pitch in South Africa

6. Own goal
Name of the player causing the own goal should be mentioned.

7. Crowds
Add life to the crowds. Eg. fans can create a Mexican wave, moving about etc.
The size of the crowd should also correlated to our performance. If we are on a
losing streak, the crowd size should dwindle and the cheering should be
somewhat subdued. However if we are on top of the table, winning match after
match, we expect the stadium to be filled to the brim and the cheering deafening.
Similarly if we are playing us poorly, we can see crowds leaving before the final
whistle.
Also create some life at the tunnels.Have people(eg. ice cream sellers) moving in
and out of the tunnel from time to time.

8. Man of the Match/Overall Team performance
Name of the player should be mentioned at the end of the match. Currently it is difficult to discern as it is quite often that we find players having the same rating at the end of the game. Similarly it would be great that the entire team is rated as a whole in addition to the individual rating. This would help check any slide in our performance.

9. PA system
Name of the player being substituted, sent off or having scored should be announced audibly on the tannoy.

10. No of Appearances
For every player under the Master League, create a record of their first team appearances. At least we would know which player of ours has made the most first team appearances for the club and also to keep a tab on others.

11. Liven up the Menu
Instead of just a plain screen menu, show a picture of the actual football ticket to keep us in the mood.
In between the football ticket, allow us to find the instruction “ Start the Game”.
Once the game is loaded, the football ticket will be torn electronically.

12. Press Conference
For any expensive signing say exceeding 800points, give us a brief cut scene commencing with the player garlanded with flowers giving a press conference (cameras clicking away)and ending with the Manager and the new signing holding the club jersey on each end (camera clicking away and fans applauding).

13. Master League/Chance to manage a National side
ML, being the jewel should provide us with an opportunity to manage a national side. Offers to manage a national side should be made available to us if we perform well in the Master League (perhaps winning the Div 1 title). An option should be given to us whether to accept or to reject. If we reject the offer, we can continue with the Master League for another season. However if choose to accept the offer, the Master League will end there. Upon accepting the offer, the system will provide us with a list of players from the 64 club teams having the same nationality. Eg. if England makes the offer, all the English players will be highlighted for our selection. We need to choose only 16 players to fill in the 16 slots from scratch.. Also provide us with an option to activate Naturalized Process ( For eg In real life,. Alex a Brazilian playing for Japan). On activation, we can use our accumulated points to naturalize a player. The more points we have the more players we can naturalize. The naturalization is necessary as there are not many national teams that have 16 of their players in the 64 Club Teams found in PES/WE. Eg. if we have naturalized two players, a national side having 14 nationals will be able to make an offer. So we will have more choices. To those who find this not challenging enough, you can choose not to activate the naturalization process and you can proceed to play the International matches without the need to accumulate further points. In any event, the International competition found under the ML should be different from what we are having currently. The current competition for Africa Cup, America Cup, Asia Cup, Konami Cup, Europe Cup and International Cup,should remain status quo but renamed differently under the ML mode eg.World Cup(if it is TM, perhaps Universe Cup)/ Europe Nations Cup/ African Nation Cup/Asian Nation Cup/Copa America to differentiate the competition. If more international teams are added as suggested on my earlier letter and the South American Club Teams reintroduced, the competition will be more intense and definitely exciting. The reward- to unlock the World Elite Team/Euro Elite/Africa Elite/America Elite/Asian Elite team.

14.Contemporary music
Instead of the spinning boring instrumental music during half time, let us have
contemporary music to keep us in tune with the times.

15.Men in Black
To create more suspense, add another cut scene where the ref gives a stern warning to
the player instead of a card. However this applies to serious fouls only. Should the ref
decides to let the player off the hook, he will just give a stern warning.
Notwithstanding, I would still prefer my earlier suggestion to have the ref on the pitch.
There is no need for cut scenes as all action will happen live on the pitch. The ref can
weaves his card , plays the advantage or gives a warning. It is not realistic to have an
invisible ref sheltered indefinitely from stray balls.

16.Scissors Kick/Bicycle kick
Currently not an easy task to perform. Even at an ideal height/speed by pressing the
square button , we get to see the player heading the ball instead of performing either
the scissor kick or bicycle kick.Instead I would suggest a dedicated button to execute
such kicks. Perhaps R2. We need perfect timing though to perform these kicks. Press
too early will see our player kicking thin air and fall flat to the ground. Or if the ball
is not on an ideal height / speed will see the shot bungled.
17. Grounders(Rolling shot)/Passes
In real life, it is possible to hit a shot that travels at ground level at enormous speed.
On both WE7/PES3, it is virtually non-existent or difficult to perform. Such shots are
instrumental in beating tall keepers from afar(around the edge of the penalty box)
and I am surprised to find such shots are not given much emphasis. Allowing us to
perform such shot by tapping square button 3 will be great.

Similarly, more speed and power should be added to the Triangle button for through
passes/fly through pass if the triangle button is depressed longer. Also, passes using
the manual method (analogue stick) should be made easier to execute like in previous
edition. On WE6, we merely have to move the analogue stick without depressing to
perform the pass. On WE7, we have to depress the analogue stick Cumbersome

19. PES/WE Shop
Besides International Classic Teams, give us an opportunity to purchase
Classic Club sides as well eg. Liverpool of the 80’s, MU of the 90’s etc.

20. Better AI- CPU’s defenders.
It is possible to score three goals in a similar fashion in one game against weaker
teams like Iran once you know their weakness.I have done it before. Run down the
wing, side step your opponent at the edge of the penalty box, turn and speed to the
edge of the goalpost and press the square and up button together. If the shot is not
deflected, there is a high probability that you will score. It is so predictable and linear.
Would suggest that CPU analyses their weakness once a goal is scored. Changed
formation/Edit position or substitute defenders if necessary.

hi someone told me to send this u as ur sending ur suggestions to konami hope u like them

I just want to put some ideas that i have come up with what i think should b in PES4 here they r:

1. The Ref and linesman on the pitch

2. A player can play as the ref and give out cards, offsides, fouls this would add to a even better multi player game between mates

3. each player has there own trick or move eg. R. carlos flick into the inside or bergkamps flick (The one from the match against Newcastle Utd)

4. player can dive to gat freekicks or pens

5. more teams

6. more in depth edit mode eg. be able to give the goalkeepers pants, player can have their shirt hanging out or tucked in, better montage face thing to make faces more realistic, a better kit editer where u can design ur own sponsors, badges and logos (eg. Nike or Reebok signs), more Individuality eg. veron wearing a bandge on his right knee, player can have there socks rolled down or like T. Henry over his knee, design gk gloves would be good and football boots to would be interesting.

7. a manager mode where like Master League but u start with poor players and the better u train them and perform in matches the better your team become this will improve ur manager, tactics and playing skills.

8. the could be a download centre just ps2 users eg. using the xPort u can connect ur ps2 to ur pc using the USB lead and logon to a web site and download the latest transfer and new hair styles and kits and teams straight from konami.

9. players kick off when a bad challenge has bin committed

10. as with the dive move that i have mentioned earlier what about a really bad tackle assigned to pressing eg. Square And X

if any one can think of more stuff that should be PES4 please reply

cheers

if u would like to email me here is the address

Don't know if they will take you seriously now as this is already in the game...
Team Management -> Team information -> go to the injured player and press :x: You will see the sort of injury and how long he will be out... ;)

Cadburyho,

Your ideas are brilliant, and original. Just wanted to know, did you receive any feedback from this Joanne the first time round?!?!
Pletikosa, much as I would love to receive some kind of feedback from Konami, Europe, I did not. So there is much to do. We know these guys feed on ideas from people like us who play the game day and night. Where do you think they get the ideas from? One thing is certain, their mailbox is filled to the brim with suggestions every day. They know their game sells and Fifa sucks but believe me, they are finding it extremely tough to stay on top, nevertheless. They have to be innovative all the time and constantly on the look out for new ideas, They cannot be complacent. So I believe that every mail gets to be read. It merely boils down to whether our idea will make the game any better.

If I can think of more suggestions, I would have no hesitation in drafting a 3rd part, a trilogy of sorts. And this time, I would copy Konami, Japan. Two minds are better one.
Does anyone knows the website of Konami, Japan?

Perhaps they read your suggestions but didnt have the time to reply -- don't stop trying!!!

Konami Japan is a good idea -- they in effect, are the true developers of the game, whereas other sub-branches simply make slight changes to suit their markets.

Seriously, I have no intention of stopping for the sake of this beautiful game.
It is important to get our ideas through no matter what. I will send by courier if I have too. Another thing, there are a lot of gems in the message board if you have the time to sieve through all the messages. How I wish there can visit this website as it has unwittingly taken Konami's game to new heights. To tell you the truth, because of this website, I am now able to understand the game better and it has transform the way I play. Thanks guys.

I think all of the ideas are great, except for no. 16. I don't like that one. The way it is now is much more realistic, you rarely see a bicycle/scissor kick and the few times you actually pull one off, it's a great feeling. However, if a button would be assigned to this, such as R2, and even if it was hard, people would eventually master it and bicycle/scissor kicks would happen frequently and it wouldn't be unique anymore. It would just be plain redundant.

Sorry for complaining, all the other ideas are fantastic. :p

I was thinking the same thing. Bicycle kicks are a holy grail of Kazaa highlights, and that is for a good reason.

Keep them rare and difficult, and they will have a similar effect in the game as they do on us in real matches.

I agree with you to a certain extent but do understand having a dedicated button does not mean that we can score via a scissor kick or bicycle kick each time. In real life, I have tried but my success rate has been poor either due to slow reflex action ,ball coming on too fast , too high or poorly angled. So in the game even if you apply pressure on the dedicated button, your success rate should also depend on the speed ,angle ,height of the ball and whether your path is clear of defenders. It will not be redundant. It will come to a stage where you will not use it unless the situation is right. Wrong timing will only see your player bungling the shot or missing the ball completely. Currently, we are unsure when our player will execute the bicycle or scissor kick. Like I have said earlier, even at an ideal height, my player will either head the ball or perform a volley when in fact I would have prefer the player to execute a bicycle or scissor kick.

Im new on this messsage board and I have been thinking about writing to Konami. All your ideas sound great, and a lot of them are the same I have had over the years. However I never thought Konami would have listened. How about this though to add if someone is going to wtite to Konami.
In Training Mode it would be good to set players to certain positions for set pieces. i.e have 2 players over the ball ready to take a free kick. Then be able to create what happens and save it as a set piece option. So you could have Bergkamp and Henry standing over the ball, then Bergkamp could run over the ball and Henry go on and take the free kick. Other things such as a little lay off to the side then someone dumming it and then another player smashing the ball!! If you could save, say 3, of these set pieces in training mode then apply them in the game, it would make free kicks, corners etc a lot more exciting and more realistic. They could easily be selected by hitting start and have an option saying select set piece, alongside where it says select kicker.

What do people think of that??

Dunno why they don't have this already...they had it in FIFA years ago, and it is one of the most important tactical aspects of the game.

Yeah Fifa's set pieces were pre set. So you had to use theirs. Wouldn't it be good to create complete new ones. Which were unique and you could use them against all different people you play against.

Think that would be great!!
