Letter to Konami Part 4

This morning, I have just released another 20 points to Konami to consider. Since I do not have Konami Japan email address, I have directed my letter to Konami Europe for their onward transmission to Konami Japan. Hopefully some of the features will be implemented.
Suggestions for Winning Eleven 9/PES5

1. More realistic injuries:-
a) bring back the head bandage
b) badly injured player should lie on the pitch until the ball goes out of play
c) A hit on the head/face should see a player dropping to the ground and clutching his face in agony.
d) A nasty tackle on a player carrying the first aid sign should see him limping on the pitch.
e) Keeper colliding with player. Player all bloody in the face on any facial contact with a charging keeper.
f) An audible shot from a player as a result of any painful physical contact when there is no cheering or chanting in progress.
2. Fans reaction to missed penalty , blatant foul or a horrific miss. Fans should response with “OOOh”or “Boo’and not always chanting or cheering
3. Revamp the rating system-rating should dip below 5 if the player has played badly or 10 for an impeccable performance
4. Add more situations for indirect free kicks such eg. shirt pulling, obstructions.
5. Referee should play the Advantage rule more instead of stopping play and interrupting the flow/rhythm if the offending team is not in possession of the ball.
6. Referee should act as if he blowing a whistle/allow us to adjust the sound and pitch of the whistle
7. Add cut scenes:-
a) player spitting
b) player’s bruise and discoloration.
c) Solemn faces of substitutes sitting at the bench
d) manager giving instruction or reacting to situations at the sidelines. (Angry, frustrated, ecstatic…etc)

.
8. Allow player to raise foot higher to kick the ball so that dangerous situation can be created where the foot can accidentally hit another player’s face ,head, stomach or groin .Amplify the sound for impact. Allow blood to trickle on the face for any injury on the head and face until help arrives.
9. Referee should be made a solid figure so that shots can be deflected if he happens to be in the way.
10. Create 3 division instead of 2 with 4 different leagues.Eg. League A- Division 1 with 18 teams and Div 2 and 3 with 8 teams each.
11. Scrap the Division Cup for each division. Create a cup competition to be participated by clubs from all the 3 divisions. It is meaningless to have a cup competition for each division.
12. For international competition, have some cut scenes before the match showing the people, the culture and some interesting sites of the country we are up against. This will build up the pre-match excitement. Besides, it is also educational.
13. Reduce the number of penalties. There is just too many. A sudden knock or slight push should not be accorded a penalty. Play should go on.
14. Add new attribute- Temperament. Player with fiery temperament should react aggressively to nasty tackles. To restrain him from fighting, we and CPU should make a decision by guess pressing the right button of our controller. Allocate 4 buttons as follows:-
a) Button 1- Swing , Punch and Kick
b) Button 2- Hold back by the ref
c) Button 3- Hold back by team mates
d) Button 4- Remain calm and back off

Allow the square ,triangle, circle and round button to shuffle between the above
actions so that its associated action will always remain a mystery. Well, there is risk to take when signing on skilful but temperamental player. If both CPU and our instruction has chosen to Swing,Punch and Kick, the situation will be explosive. Both players will be sent off.
15. Allow us to purchase objective challenge in the PES/WE Shop. All we need to do is to purchase and unlock the objective challenge. That is all. Once the objective challenge has been unlocked, Mission will be given to us at random to accomplish before the season kicks off. Missions should vary from season to season. Eg.

a) To secure promotion to the first division
b) To qualify for WEFA Masters
c) To qualify for the WEFA Championship
d) To finish the season with a certain amount of fund balance
e) To win the Division Cup

Failure to accomplish a mission will mean that “Game Over”or better You’re Fired.

During the season, offers can be made to us to manage team from another
division. Should we decide to accept the offer, we will relinquish control of our current team. So if we are bored at playing in League A, we can accept offers from another League. Who knows you may be tempted to buy some player from your previous club. Similarly it would be great if offers to manage a country is sometimes made.Once we accept that, we have to build up the National Team from scratch with players from all the Four Leagues. Hence summon to represent will be much more meaningful that way as we will be constrained by Managers not releasing their players for national duty owing to an important league tie ahead.
16.. Player signed above certain fee must play at least 18matches otherwise they will not accept a new contract.
17..Create those arrogant keepers that taunts as in real life.
18. Some players like to have their shirt not properly tucked in or socks not properly pulled up. Create them for the real feel.
19. Like to see real time damage to the pitch especially during a heavy downpour. Skid marks due to heavy sliding. Water clogged up on some parts of the pitch. Changing weather eg. hot and then suddenly raining or weather becoming darker gradually/ Floodlight switch on in the midst of the game.
20.To add color to the game, add different color nets. The game will look much better.

i think the majority of those are rather pointless, with only a few that would actually be worthwhile.
however, Konami will be very proud as there is almost nothing in there that relates to the actual gameplay.

But what could they mean by legal reasons. It's your idea you want them to use for free.

thats what i thought, but i think its because they may use my idea and theres always a risk that i would sue them claiming they used my idea without paying me,but in realty i'd never do that as i would just want to help konami, speaking of which i need to write to them prasing the work they've done on pes 4 :D

i dont really like number 15 getting fired ect.and the idea of blood is good but seriously doubt they will.and the fighting is a bit daft as you wouldnt really want someone to get sent off on purpose would you? other than that great you should send it off to them

How about snow on a pitch? It would be a lot harder to do, I suppose and wouldn't add a lot to the gameplay, but these guys are the masters! We could have an orange ball (scrap those heart ones, what are they?) and the ball could move a lot slower on the white pitch. The options of the game are fine but I want more atmosphere from the crowd (point2) and more dodgy keeping, like Roy Carroll errors (but not too often) and the inclusion of linesmen, so there are debatable goals and offsides, so sometimes the referee DOES get it wrong. Also, real refs. Mike Riley can come in (perhaps with own referee attributes) and spark controversy. I want it more frustrating, like real life (the new offside goals cinematic is ace), so perhaps retaken penalties and arguing with the ref during play. Then, include hitting the ball at the ref. (sweet, sweet revenge) and see him whimper in pain! Also, include more power on the free kicks, Robero Carlos' go about 10mph.

I think a new direction would be good: a football manager sim, where Konami team up with SI Games (Championship Manager makers). You could manage and enjoy the visuals of the most real football game on the planet. I think it would make money...
And don't SI Games have the rights for many of the Pro leagues?

But I must say I like your guys' ideas. Very original and creative and agree with all of them - even controversial no. 15: would like to see it happen.

I would really like to see those old ISS missions "Scenarios" back from SNES. They were fun and defying. For example, you are losing 2-3 in a deciding world cup qualifier match and its in the dying moments, and its a corner for the opposition, you got only one chance to clear the ball, counter attack and score to qualify! Meh, i wish the old days can be brought back!

I agree with you on this. I would not like to fight on purpose and then see my player sent off. It just does not make sense unless you love playing with a handicap. What I am proposing is that we try to prevent a fight. Certain players in real life despite being gifted can be really hostile and aggressive. A simple push and they will come after you. In real life, it is extremely difficult for a manager to stop such player from fighting. So what I am actually proposing is that we should not have any control of how a player is going to behave like in real life. If a player is hot tempered and we have chosen to play him then we should be prepared to take a risk. Our only hope of preventing a fight is to guess the right button to press. A wrong guess would mean that we are down to 10. I believe this feature will add more sparks to the game.

there's omly a couple in there that i would agree with. Most are superficial and wont add much in the long term. How many of us actually watch the cutscenes after a week of playing?

What lami said i would love to see. They were great in the old days. Bring back the missions

go back to the speed of PES 3! The pace of that game is so much better.
They wont put blood on it I don't think. They'd have to beef it up to a 15 if they did. Probably same for spitting too... (bad example for youngsters ;))

i don't think they'd want to incorparate spitting in the game, why not put racisim in there aswell :| plus cut scenes are great for the 1st weeks you get the game after that their jus repetative and annoying, their are some points are i like but the majority really isn't needed, but its a great day for konami when they can basically see that gameplay is perfect :)

Things like racism, spitting and fighting should never be part of any football games, the players in the game have a rolemodel.
What if little kids start to fight on the pitch because they saw it in PES or FIFA?

you're asking for too much, they won't take you seriously.
Have they answered back yet?

Its better to write more than enough. They wont do all of these things of course but if they at least take note of a few, we'll have a better game

we'll them idea's are abit to far-fetched for this next game, but the blood one would ruin it.

But some good ideas.
