Looking for some advice (making legends, e.g. George Best)

Hey folks, I'm trying to make a Manchester United Legends team to include the likes of Best, Cantona, Edwards, Charlton and such other great players. I'm also looking to make a Legends team which will include players like Pele, Maradona, Zidane, Cafu, etc.

Anyway, I've always done a lot of in-game editing but for this I was hoping to go one step further and put this face editing stuff to use. I've seen some really realistic faces made from photos going about and have watched tutorials, downloaded software and googled lots of things but still have no idea what to do.

How can I make faces like this and then put them into the game...?

yep scanning is very hard to get right konami make everything hard
