Well yeah. Thaks but I want to know how will manual pass work in pes 09? And what excactly is it?

Not having played the game yet I can only assume it is the same except the AI will make better passes / judgment.

There's a slight difference though.. Before we had to Point and then Push the Right Stick -whereas- Now, in PES09, we Only need to point in the Direction we want the Pass to go.

This pretty much fixes the issue of having to "push" the Right Stick in order to perform a "Manual Pass". It was too Slow for the Gameplay.

Not sure if we are talking about the same thing here, you can also use the manual pass (right stick) without having to press the R3 in 2008, 6,5,4,3,2 and 1 I think, it is just an option in the "button configuration" screen. Personally I prefer to use the R3; I hope we dont only have to point in the direction, I use it a lot for both scoring and crossing, How will I be able to dink it in to the near post? this can not be the case!!!! and I hope that the L2 lofted pass is back in for PS3, scored many a lob with L2 and manual pass.

so, uh I tried the semi fixed... that shit is hard as fuck on proffesional, on my masterleague I was 1-0-2, but the goals came late... the script got the best of me, or was it the fact that I needed to get used to the new cam and the different way of selecting. I was playing on zom cam, then I switched to fixed, and that was pretty cool...

anyway, tha completely changed the way I play the game, making it almost new for these last few weeks..

you can use any cam on semi-fixed, found wide to be best, player cam is best on fixed IMO.

But you are right it does feel different and you do change the way you play, that is why I am little annoyed that it is talked about as if it is a new feature, because obviously it is not and I can not help but feel that it might be a little bit of a kop out in terms of coding, as you make your own runs etc. the AI doesn't have to think as it where, but I am still looking forward to the release of pes09, it should be good!

I would prefer it if the AI started runs on it's own -or- at the Tap of a button.

It would make the game more Realistic and Simple, just having the AI making off-the-ball runs, and how well they run without the ball should be determined by "Tactical Stats".

That whole Manual Passing thing sounds too Slow and Complex for the Gameplay.. Probably, Most people will keep using the Old "Pass and Move" via the R2 button.

I wanted a Variation to go with the Pass and Move control.. Maybe include something similar to the one in FIFA, where you Tap L1 to trigger an Attacking Run. If we could have "Pass and Move" via the R2 button -and- "Trigger Player Run" via the L1 button.

I think it would give something New to the Gameplay.. Because, whenever we find ourselves Without Support from the Rest of the Team (wich happens quite often in PES6), in such a Situation, the L1 "Trigger Player Run" move would offer some Options.

That is, that we will Not get stuck in the middle of the pitch because our team-mates (for some unknown reason) do Not feel like Running into open gaps -in- this Type of Situation (wich is quite common in PES) the L1 "Trigger Player Run" control would make a Huge Difference.

Because Unlike the old "Pass and Move" -the- "Trigger Player Run" via the L1 button -can- be done Without having to Pass the ball. In other words, with the "Trigger Player Run" control the Gameplay would have a Significant New bit of Depth.

And people would no doubt use it more -because- you Only have to Tap the L1 button, wich is better for the Gameplay.

PES09 looks better than any other PES -so- it will probably Play better too.. But somehow, I don't think Konami is working at full capacity. I mean, they have Not even talked about Including a New Feature to the Gameplay, something truly New..

I mean, How Hard can it be to simply Implement the L1 "triggering player run" move into the game?? Along with the well-known "Pass and Move" control, something to just "trigger attacking runs" would give the game some much needed Depth.

I fail to understand How Konami has Not even Included Variations (and to a certain extent "Alternatives") to the Old "Pass and Move" control. Seriously, How hard can it be??

unrelated but just been playing the NHL 09 demo and be a pro is frikin quality. It feels so good being your own dude. Having teamates is great and adds depth and when my team scores a goal it feels like a 'team effort' which is just great. Its really fun to play and if i find that fun i think i might fient when i play pes. It just feels like your really there screaming at your teamates to pass the ball and will definetly feel and get personal. I can just imagine an oppenent taking my m8 out online and me getting revenge. I cant wait to play with my m8 with our players online on the same team. Gonna be fuking A

you are spot on, i always think that Konami introduce old features as new, even the Be A Legend mode you can try the mode's gameplay if you choose a fixed cursor and unlocked the player camera then used it, i think it was first introduced in PES4 or PES5 (the same year when WE japanese introduced Fantastica mode). The manual passing using the right stick without R3 always there (you can change it in the controller configuration). Passing the ball while the cursor stays on the passer is again possible since a long time. Konami is using peoples ignorance to these things and always introduce them as new features while they are available from previous versions (except for the no. of players in a wall, quick free kick in PES6 and some other little touches) but only hardcore gamers who spent most of their time exploring the possibilities of this great game know about all its great features.
Konami introduced one of the greatest simulation games in history then turned to be lazy and just play hide and show game with gamers.
I hope they return to invent and create as when they were working on the first versions of the game.

wrong. D-pad can only use 8 directional. And analog work like d-pad too. So you can give passes only in 8 directionals

In terms of passing using the d-pad, if you use the x button it goes to the feet of the player vaguely in that direction, if you press the triangle it goes in front, therefore the passing using the d-pad technically is not 8 directions. however manual passing is done with the analogue stick which is most definitely 360

You must be Chinagay's little brother say hello to him, while you keep this nonsense going. in case you don't know, you don't know cause you don't have the money to buy 2 games, PES has manual passing.

The funny thing about that video is that he really didn't mean to do it. I understand Italian and listening to him talk was funny because he was complaing about it :)

I don't see Why all the fuzz about FIFA09.. I mean, I have seen the Gameplay Footage -and- honestly, it looks like the same game, just as boring as always.

Chinaman had criticized that players in PES moved in 90ª angles -and- I don't see what's his point, as in FIFA, the Movements might LOOK better -but- in actual PLAY they are as Arcadey as ever..

I think the game Looks better -but- Plays the same.

And as for PES, I would really like to see something SIMPLER and easier to use than the "Manual Passing" system. Why Not just Include another Variation to the Old R2 "Pass and Move".

Maybe SIMPLY Tap the L1 button in order to trigger an Attacking Run.. This would finally solve the Old Issue with the Pass and Move system.

How many times have we found ourselves with no Support from the Rest of the Team?? In this Type of situations, because we have No One to pass it to -the- "Pass and Move" via the R2 button becomes useless.

A variation to it would effectively solve that problem -and- the simplest variation would be to SIMPLY assign some Tactical Runs to a series of easy to use Controls.

For example, by Tapping the L1 (with ball possession) the Forwards (SS or CF) execute an Attacking Run. And by Pressing and Holding the L1 button and then pressing any of the Main Buttons (square, circle, x, triangle) the Forward executes another Type of Tactical Run.

With a similar easy-to-use system wee would have 4 Variations along with the Old "Pass and move". Something like this would definitely improve the Gameplay -while- still having that Minimalistic Approach that worked so well for Konami in the Past.

Bottom Line of this rant?? I would prefer something simpler -because- the Manual Pass feature sounds too complicated and Slow for the actual Gameplay.. it's hard enough to pass the ball.
