As disgusted as I am by the day one DLC we all have to pay for (won't say what it contains because it is a mini spoiler but it is so central to the universe that I can't believe they're doing this), I'll get it on Friday/Saturday when the game turns up.

Can't wait. Please make sure people are using spoiler tags in this thread as well. Excited but also sad that the trilogy is coming to an end.

I know what it is and I too agree it's disgusting. It's actually what the whole game revoles around really and it's not even in the final game!

It is an extra character but have you read what race the character is?

We weren't charged anything for the Zaeed DLC for ME2. This character is WAY more important and interesting.

Bioware did a great job with DLC in ME2, mainly getting things for free. But seems as if they've changed that direction, most probably some influence from EA.

Either way really excited for this, just need to find a spare £40 to get it!

i played the demo. holy fucking shit it was awesome.

however, i hated the monotonous cut-scenes. they were fucking long isn't like mass effect 2, where one has complete control over dialogue options. all we see is shepard continuously talking in the cutscenes in the most melodramatic fashion conceivable. apparently the same is true in the final game.

the game appears to have been 'dumbed down' to cater for the call of duty crowd. don't get me wrong, i hate RPGs and i think they're boring as hell, but i felt mass effect 2 had the perfect fusion of action and RPG elements to keep it an interesting game. why have they endlessly added cutscenes without dialogue control?

too bad mass effect 3 is the last game in shepard's story. i'm a sucker for sci-fi games such as mass effect.

You should've played ME1 then, the combat is so much different compared to ME2/3. It's definately a lot more mainstream and has kind of lost the RPG element the first game had. That being said the story more than makes up for it.

tbh mass effect 2 is better than mass effect 1 in almost every way.

but mass effect 3 seems to be cutscene after cutscene after cutscene.

I prefered the game style of the first game as the 2nd had a much more Gears Of War stye gameplay, as does ME3.

Mine probably won't arrive until Monday - I refuse to pay for delivery just to get a game on release date.

Yes but now they've been caught lying about it.

It was bad enough charging us for DLC containing a lore-important character when they said it was developed by a different team and completed after the game DVDs were made and boxed. It is even worse that they're charging us for content which is already on the DVD.

That has been done once or twice before but I can't remember which games and I'm sure lies were not a part of it.

Will I buy From Ashes? We'll see.
