How many stars does everyone put down on their Master League settings to get the most realistic transfer atmosphere?????

Transfer Frequency

Level of Aquired players

Aquisition Difficulty

i start off ML with: transfer frequency-1*(which negates 'level of aquired players'), and aquisition difficulty-1*. the reason is because i want to build my regular team (ie: r.madrid: raul, ronaldo, zidane, etc.) while the cpu teams stick to their regular line-ups also. i don't want to start D1 with all the cpu teams already jumbled up! after 1 or 2 seasons of D1 with the normal/regular/correct line-up, then i'll change the settings to: transfer freq.-2*, level of aquired players-2*, and aquisition difficulty-3*. this way the cpu teams, hopefully make meaningful transfers.

aquisition difficulty 1*???

that doesn't seem very realistic to me. if it's easy to get players to come to a shatty club, whats the point??? you should have to win with horrible players and gain some status before any good player would come to your team. henry would not go to preston north end no matter how much money they offered.

it shouldn't be difficult to aquire players that are supposed to be on your team, in place of the default(division2) players you start off with. i just don't want to see them at other clubs once i get promoted to D1, hence the 1* on 'transfer frequency' & 'acquisition difficulty'. for example, if i'm using real madrid, i don't want to see that ronaldo is at barcelona, or zidane is at marseille, etc. but once i assemble the true real madrid team, then i'll turn up the 'aquisition difficulty', so it'll be realistic and harder to get non real madrid players like shevchenko, etc. ;)

well i totally disagree..... i suppose we just have different ideas of how the ML should be played. nothing wrong with that. i just don't see it as a challenge.

you are pretty much "giving" yourself the most talented club in football from the start..... it seems you are in a bit of denial.... zidane and ronaldo from the get go???

for instance, i am celtic in ML, the whole point is that you are not really "celtic." henrik larsson should not be on your team.... you are a shatty low level club and the default players are YOUR players. it is supposed to be a career building experience where you work very hard with marginal players up the ranks aquiring mediocre players as you go. konami would have kept celtics roster intact if they wanted the orginial players to be on the team.

its also not very realistic to act like no transfers go on with big name teams. sure you may not want everyone to be flip flopped when you get to division one. but throughout the year in professional soccer, there are quite a few big transfers each year. ie beckham to real.....

like i said, play the game as you like, thats the whole point of video games, is for fun. the thread was just about what you consider the most "realistic" transfer settings. and i don't see it as realistic to have ronaldo and zidane signing up for a low level club.... which is what real madrid are SUPPOSED to be at the beginning of ML if you choose them

i understand your point, but i think the level for 'aquisition difficulty' becomes a moot point if i have 'transfer frequency' @ 1*. it's still easy to get the players that aren't supposed to be assigned to other teams, but yours. you still have to splash out the points for them, and believe me i fight for every single point. it takes me around two D1 seasons to assemble the correct team  .

yea, but after my first season with all the default players, and a punishing 7th place finish in D2, i had accumulated 13,000 pts. and could easily afford to sign larsson, but like i said, Henry would never go to preston north end, no matter if they paid him more than arsenal currently does. it's a matter of prestige for the players.

i guess it just seems unrealistic to me that you don't allow top clubs to purchase available players, only yourself, kind of a monopoly. they are free agents at the start of the game, and free to go where they like.

to each his own. i think we understand each other

he'll probably sign once you get promoted :) . but i guess no one else out there pays attention to the acquisition and transfer settings.

I set the acquisition difficulty to the minimum, so I can usually get who I want. I don't buy world class players though, some good ones and some just decent. Although, I once got the chance to get Cassano by swapping him with Castolo and Roma unrealistically accepted (idiots). And I set the transfer frequency between the CPU teams low because I want to play those teams containing the players they have at present.

i leave it at default as well

5* difficulty

Yes to acumulated fatigue

NO to COM teams getting retired players (i don't get them myself either, they are more fun for friendlies)

Then default setting for transfers
i believe it's
2*
3*
2*
not sure though
