Max Drive Help & Questions Thread

Put the usb into your pc.
double click on my computer -> can you see a Removable Drive in there?
That's the max drive. Paste the .max file into there. and you're done.

thats the problem i dont see the max drive removable disc, i have plugged it in and it is unloked etc when i plug it in its says it has installed etc but i dont see it anywhere

Try resetting your PC, or try a different USB port on the pc.
Check the little switch on the max drive - that it is unlocked.

Im having same problem. im on windows xp so i dont have to install any software, when i plug the max drive (xbox) into a usb port on my pc it says it has installed it and ready to use but when i go to my computer ther is no extra drive there. It can't be my usb because i have a psp and when i connect that to a usb slot a drive appears for that. Please help!!!!

I don't use max drive. I use a usb flash memory (usb key), connect to the pc, drag the .max file to the usb memory. And then load the usb memory (usb key) with action replay max, and Uncrush the .max file to the memory card, and that's all. Everything works.

To those who can't get it to work, see what happens on another PC.
Try installing the pc software again and see if that makes any difference for you.

could you please answer these questions.

1. do you need to have your ps2 connected up to the net to use the max drive
2. does the max drive work with slimline ps2.

1. No. First you download the file. Then you copy it over to the max drive. Then you put the max drive into the ps2 and copy the file to your memory card.

2. Some people have problems loading the ps2 max drive disk. I don't use the slim one so others will have to confirm that one.

Dear Sir

Further to your email you would need the latest version of the Max drive disc which is version 1.36, the version number is on the underside side of the disc towards the centre.

I've been trying to load up the option files onto my PS2, but on the Browser screen, in the memory cards it appears as a blue 'x-port' file, and in the game, the new option file is not recognised. Now I'm using a Max Drive and I've been careful to download the right ones so what is going wrong? (do i have to unzip the files before i download them? if yes, do i need winzip and where can i get it from?)

no I did unzip (with winrar) it first, then put it on the MD, uncrushed the file to the MC, and I still get the blue xport logo
