Max drive issues

Just got my xbox max drive and i am completely stumped...i looked in the max drive threads but none answered my question...

1)when i insert my max drive (and yes it is unlocked) it doesnt appear at the bottom or on my computer, however, it does come up with the safely remove...etc, so it knows its in the comp...

2) I know you need a .max file, but since option files were taken off pesfan, the only one i could find was a .xbx file, what does this mean? and will it still work?

do you mean .xps....this is for the x-port thing on the xbox i think....thought there is a converter:
