Just thot this could be an interesting thread so i'll start it off

Pro 2007 was easy enough to get. Me and 3 of my pals drove to town, parked the car and ran to Game. I'll always remember my pal stoppin at the door, walkin in as cool as you like & lifting the pro off the shelf. The Feel good factor was too good

Pro 2008 on the otherhand wasnt as easy for me and my pal. We went to town, went to G-Force... Standing in the Q. I see an employee walk past with a few PES Ps3 Copies and im thinkin " yass, must be so many more copies to sell " ... then 2 minutes later, all i hear is " PS3 VERSION HAS SOLD OUT ". Talk about being gutted. Me and my pal weren't accepting Defeat just yet tho. We phone the Hamilton store and the guy goes " Come and see me " cause he cant exactly go " yeah we're selling " a couple of days too early. So we jump in the car, off we go to Hamilton. In we go ... there it is, sitting waiting for us. The guy charges us £50 each. We couldn't care less.

Pal drops me off, i fire up the stair. Fire on the disc... sitting there all smiles threw the menu etc ... then :crymore:....:crymore: then i discover the lag!:(!! ... all the hassell i went threw that day for that. I still played it tho, then updates etc were released but was still scarred

Lets hope my story for PES 09 is nice and simple : Ordered online, arrived on time and pld like a wetdream

Anyone else got some old pro stories to share ?

PES4 is probably my favourite memory of receiving PES. Ordered it online and was at school during the day. Then had football straight after school and had phoned home so many times to ask if it had come. My mum said "Nah, not today" and I was gutted. Went home from football dejected and depressed. Little did I know my mother was lying. I walked into my room and there it was, lying on top of my PS2, looking so so inviting.

I'm sure I've told this story before, but buying ISS Pro 98 was the most interesting ISS/PES purchase I've made. There used to be a local independent games shop where you could trade games - the first I ever came across. I went in with my brother and cousin to get it, with a game to trade. So, first of all, we find that the game we want to trade plus the cash we had wasn't enough. I was gutted since I saved up for it. We reserved ISS and went back home to get some more money. All I had was a Rowntree's Fruit Pastilles pencil case - remember those, I've still got it - full of pennies, which turned out to be enough, and benefited the shop since they were lacking change. Anyway, I let my brother deal with the transaction while I went to play a game they had set up. While I was playing, a kid comes up to me and ask me for a fiver. I said no. He pointed to two tall boys at the checkout and said they were his brothers and they'll beat me up if I don't give him a fiver. He asked me if I wanted them to beat me up, I said no. "Give me the money then" he replied. I said no again. He looked frustrated and walked off to his brothers. By which time, we had already paid for ISS Pro 98 and left the shop. My cousin recognised them from his are, White City, and said they were pretty rough. My cousin and brother legged it to the bus stop, but I couldn't be arsed and just walked after them.

The bonus was, we got a free demo of Metal Gear Solid with the game, which we never realised until we got home.

getting pes 5 was my best one. i can recall everyone at my school being so eager to get it at lunch time, going to the high streets to get themselves a copy. in the morning there was a nasty rumour going round that east london would only be given 200 copies and that made it more of a wanted game. i knew i couldnt get all the way to the shops to get me one and i didnt have the money on me anyways so i rang my dad at home and told him to get me one which he did in the end after a few sly text messages telling me that it was out of stock everywhere. when lunchtime was over i can remember a few of them being waved around in set 2 science.

there was one little prick who went to 24 hour tesco the night of the release and bought it the second it was on the shelves and was just showing off that day.

I was walking down at a street. In my country there was shops where games are played at arcade machines.. I saw a crowd in there.. I wondered and stepped inside.. Peple were standing and watching a big TV.. I went there just to see what they are all looking at.. A soccer game?? that I've never seen before, that couldn't be possible.. I just asked people .. and they said that it is Playstation and the name of the game is Winning Eleven.. I just stood there and watched people playing for 2-3 hours.. And at that weekend I bought a Playstation 1 along with Winning Eleven.. From that date I never missed a Winning Eleven nor a PES game..
My favorite PES was PES 5 as many other and I'm so hopeful that PES 09 will be closest one in gameplay manner..
PES is a lifestyle man...

I had a similar situation with GTA. I pre-ordered from Play.com, and was working on release day. I kept ringing my sister all morning to ask if it had arrived. I phoned her whilst on my way home, and it still hadn't got there. But by the time I got home, she was just closing the door on the guy who delivered it. Brilliant.

No real exciting PES story's though. I've always seemed to be able to get it with minimum fuss on release day.

Well i used to be a Fifa guy....had all of the games from 98 till 2003...then had a break during 2004 and 2005..cause i moved for 2 years to Atlanta,USA and was hooked up with Madden...when i came back, Fifa 06 was about to come out, so i went with a buddy to get it..for some reason he wasnt too keen about it. We got it, tried it, and for some reason it just didnt work,,we want to back to get another one but there werent any left..so my buddy tells me here lets get PES 5 ive played it since ISS in Ps1..i was hesitant but wth....Well ive been a happy PES fan ever since....(yes, a fifa convert, but it was FAITH =) )

Wait...
Nothing unusually interesting about my purchases of PES. The only version I even remember buying is PES3 as that was the first game of the series I bought. I remember seeing it on the shelf, Colina on the front cover, and thinking, "Hmm, there's another soccer game besides FIFA? Looks good."

PES 1.

When we were buying the PS2, we were unsure in what to buy, which games to get. We had the PS1 with all the ISS' but we were not sure as we read a few things said and fifa was apparently better. We stood in the shop with both games in our hands, thinking which one, My brother was like, this is ISS' we have played it on the PS1 so lets just go for this one. We went home fired it up, and god we loved that game.

Not long now until the release date. I pre-ordered my copy of 2009 from Game.Co.Uk. I'm hoping they are as reliable as ive heard of this forum

I got the 12th - 22nd October off work for its arrival !

Simply Cannot Wait. Havent been this excited for a game since GTA4 and that even died down for me after a week of playing. Pro 2008 only died down for me once the 2009 demo came out
