They might have to order the chip or they might be busy, any decent person wouldnt play on your machine, make sure you either know them or know someone has had it done there first before giving them your machine. my mate had his chipped in a town where i live and he give him a completely different ps2 back! i would write the serial number, etc on your ps2 as backup!

Make sure that you do. If they chip the same day you hand it in, its worth waiting for it if you get me??..

jonboyo patch with slide card.

has anyone been able to play the latest jonboyo patch onto a cd and use it with the slide card?

there was some question as to whether the image size was too big.

got my flip top yesterday, and it works absolutely perfect with patched pes3!!
jonboyo 5.1.04 to the clean game, and 5.1.04to7.2.04 right after then, all two to the .bin.
no problems with image size (721.913kb), like some1 said before. burned with nero 4x on verbatim 700mb printable surface. wasted 2 cd's anyway cause didn't remove dvd-check properly (always closed dvdscan2 after analising, but you have to click 'patch them'...after two tryes i got it right)

great playing patched games...100% more fun...and the most important - flip top works!! :D

Great, I also use the flip top, how long did it take for u to install it?

quite an hour i think, the only shity thing is to place the silver cable for reset and eject button well beside! the tray and not knick it when closing.
i payed much attention, i was slow i think, you can make it easily in 30 minutes...for sure

now i'm waiting for we7i:j (ordered two weeks ago) and then patch and freek away...

Well after 3 failed attempts last night i still haven't got this to work. I followed the instructions exactly as they were stated in the readme.txt but I still get the pink border when I insert the disc on the swap magic screen.

I extracted using isobuster all the files from my original image except:-
dummy.bin
data_f.afs
data_g.afs
data_i.afs
data_j.afs
data_s.afs
...and placed them in C:\WE7I. I then ran the WE7I batch file and it created the WE7I.iso file. I loaded that into CDMAGE (Mode1) as that is all you are able to do when importing, then "Save As" Mode2(2352) to get the Cue & Bin. Checked image with Eccregen and it was fine, opened cue sheet in Nero5 and burned at 4x speed. Cue sheet stated it was a 721MB disc but apparently that is ok?!

Put Swap Magic v2 in the PS2 - then put in my newly burned image and I get the pink border instead of the blue one! (Yes I am using the CD Swap Magic disc). So I have NO idea what I am doing wrong, nothing as far as I can tell.

Any advice?

PS I posted this in the thread Jag created but I thought I would post here incase someone misses it from that thread.

I use a chipped PS2. This is the best option as you don't need to use swap disks to boot up games. But it does cost the most.

You need a half-decent PC to patch your game.
You can see the software you need to rip your DVD in the first post of the PES3-DVD-ripping thread here. Just a couple of small programs. Probably ripping PES4 will be quite similar to ripping PES3 but we don't know yet.

Then you need ppfomatic 3 and CDMage for basic patching and a few more editing programs for more advanced stuff. And something like Nero, CDRWin, Alcohol 120% for burning your patched game.

Some people may need to buy a new RGB/scart cable or WE games will show up as black & white on their TV.
And you can get these for about £5.

If you are able follow the instructions in the guides, you're more than ready to give it a go. And there are people around to help out if needed too.
Good luck.

Thans alot Zyg, but where can i get my PS2 chipped,

We don't know too much about WE8 yet. It might be in English too.
WE7 is in Japanese and you have to patch it to get all the menus and player names into English. But the menus don't change that much between games so it is playable while waiting for the translation patch.

And WE7:IJ has a multiple language option so you could choose whichever one you like.

I got mine chipped at www.thebarras.co.uk using the Homeservice.

Thanks for the help Zyg...I definatly gonna patch PES3 or WE8

EDIT: So if i get my PS2 chipped by this site. ill be able to play a patched version of PES4/WE8, with all the real kits, ad boars, boots ect...will i need an X-Port,

.......Btw, ive been browsing other threads, and i keep seeing stuff like DVD ripped version of PES3 and CDW-R and rip it to CD, stuff like that, i don't have a clue what they are on about

And is there a begginers thread, for people like me, who dont have the slightest clue what to do ? like a tutorial on how to do everthing step-by-step ? or is this it ?

Xport has nothing to do with patching and vice-versa, if you have a chipped PS2 you can patch your game with all the kits, stadiums, sounds, boots, chants etc., no need for the XPort.
WE games have always been on CD, so patching wasn´t a problem, only 3 clicks, 10 mins and the patch was applied. WE7:I was the first game of the series on DVD, also PES is always on DVD, that´s why you have to rip it if you want to patch it but don´t have a DVD writer. We have enough guides here about all this ripping, editing and patching stuff, for both, beginners and advanced users.
