In relation to the above post, I live in Australia and bought the Slide Card + Swap Magic Disks off www.quantronics.com.au. Cost $39.95 + $9.00 Dollars for express post. The instructions provided are terrible but once you get the hang of it, it works perfect.

cheers mate, that was the site i was accually looking at they call it "Slide Tool" but i guess they mean Slide Card

thanks.

i use swap magic and slide card, i have a DVD rip on CD that's called Miracle rip. i have the original DVD (purchased from play-asia) and just wanted to see if this version would work with swap magic.

the problem i am experiencing is i can load the game no problem with the swap magic boot cd, scroll through all the we8 menus, watch players walk out, line up, etc, but as soon as i kick off the game freezes!

can anyone help?

i have exactly the same problem!
please someone help us... :)

Swap Magic and Slide definately works with a back-up/patched version of WE8...

This is what to do:

Insert version 3 of the swap magic disc, let the ps2 boot the cd, when asked to insert other disc, perform slide trick, insert disc, perform final slide and press [ ] (square). this performS a special boot.

if you press X it works but when you go to kick off it crashes/freezes.

When i press square it just says insert a ps2 disc...

start from scratch:

insert swap version 3 boot up cd, wait for it to load, when ask to load program, perform slide trick and place we8 disc in tray, push tray back perform final slide and press square on remote control. this should work, if it doesnt then the disc may be faulty.

i hope this helps.

Thanks mate, while looking at the DMS3 i noticed that DMS4 is out soon so I may wait to get hold of that because its meant to be a little easier to install.

whooaaa!

ive read up on this on this site for ages, and still dont know what it means. I dont understand what all the different things do.

*Which ps2 should I buy? does it matter?(my current one isnt working).
*Which slidecard do i need, what does it do?
*which disk do i need? (does this go in before the game disk?)

If somebody could help me out it would be great. I must seem dead ignorant but it would be great to have all the right strips etc.

im not sure about the brand new slim ps2, but as far as the older black, silver and aqua ps2s are concerned, slide card and swap magic are a good combination and an excellent tool to use if your buying a brand new ps2 as it wont break the warranty/gaurentee.

i purchased a slide card and swap magic off ebay last week for a friend of mine, £20. if you pm me i will provide you with the persons email address and user name on ebay.

im off home now so wont be able to reply until tmw.

regards mikeyf

I don't think there is any way for the slim one without a chip - yet.

So, can you play back-ups on the new slim PS2 without a mod-chip? Does the slide-card combo work? Or do you need some kind of flip-top lid? My brother just got one for christmas so I'd like to know so that i can introduce him to the wonders of patched PES!!!!

Why not? A couple of my mates have slide cards/Swap Magic discs and they all play patched PES4 very well thank you! What makes you say they cannot play patched PES4?

Can the slide card play ripps (patched cd's) of the PES4?
I also heard that slide card puts in danger the laser-head of the console each time you open the tray.

Well, I've heard that the new swap magic 3.3 discs were especially designed to work with the new slim PStwo. As far as I know, it does play imports/backups on the new slim PStwo. But, as for introducing your brother to patched PES4...

Thats not gonna happen with Swap Magic even on an older PS2.
Wrks for every1 i know :D
