Now I really am confused! i just saw this on psx services website:

Slide-Card is an easy and affordable way for everyone to play their PS2 Original Import games. It is a completely "never seen before" solution and alternative to a modchip for PlayStation2.

It's cheap and easy to use
There is no warranty void
Works with ps2 original import games
Works with all PAL models of playstation 2 ( NOT THE NEW SLIM PSTwo)

Why would they put a warning like that on the website if the slidecard works with the PSTwo?

Cheers stoneman! I found a good site in the UK selling the v3.3. The flip-top lid sounds like a good idea as I saw the instructions for use without a flip-top lid and it looked really complicated and very dodgy (pieces of drinking straw and small balls of paper!).

if u buy the slide card combo do u have to buy seperate swap magic disks to be able to play a patched version of pro evo 4 , so do the disks tht come in the combo allow you to play patched games and not just import games

No, the slide card combo is one Swap-Magic CD and one Swap-Magic DVD plus two Slide cards. This works really well on older PS2's (i.e not the new slim PSTwo's) and let's you play patched PES4 (on DVD) as well as your imports etc.

The latest Swap-Magic (v3.3) work with the PSTwo.

Has anyone ever experienced the same problem that I have with slide card combo?
I put the CD or the DVD of the Swap Magic and after loading I get to a screen with these choices: Load Program
Video: (PAL, NTSC, Normal)
:x: : Normal Boot, square: Special Boot.
Whatever I choose (normal or Special Boot) I return to the same screen with the same choices. I dont get to the screen with the message Insert Disc as I should. Are my CD and DVD of Swap Magic both corrupted? I just bought the Slide Card Combo.
Thanks for your time.

Hi,

Ive purchased a swap magic boot disc(version 3.3) and a slide card. In all the instructions it says it will load up to a screen which says "insert disc", mine doesnt, it says "load program". Can anyone help and advise me on what im doing wrong

Thanks

How can i get all the updates. I dont have any X port or any thing of that nature. the only method i can see working is i down load the files, put disk into PS2 and copy files to memory card. Anyone tell me if this is possible

You're not doing anything wrong. Its just that the instructions provided with most Swap Magic combos are outdated. The intructions that you must have are for the Swap Magic v2.0 discs. The manufacturers of Swap Magic, quite frankly, can't be arsed to rewrite the instructions for the newer versions. I bought the v3.0 discs myself but I got the v2.0 instructions.

Anyway, what it should say is; wait til the 'Load program' screen appears. At that point you can then swap your Swap Magic disc for a game disc either by using the slide card to slide open the tray or by opening your flip top (or built-in flip top drive on the new PStwo).

If you have any further problems then just reply back in this thread and I can help you out. I'm a bit of an expert on Swap Magic and Slide Cards especially since I've had my Swap Magic/Slide Card combo for about a year now.

I have to try/reboot many times to have it loaded. Any idea how to get the game loaded easier? I used swap magic and have to push the eject button for a few seconds before the tray comes out for a few seconds to put the disc in and the tray comes back in automatically.

Hi Guys

I'm a newbie to all this but I've read most of the info you guys have got up here and I have a question:

on the site above (www.memtechsolutionsltd.co.uk) the Swap method thingy suggests that it will only work with DVD-Rs. My DVD burner only does +Rs does that mean that buying the swap wotsit will be a waste of money ? Do they all rely on -R ?

Ta very much in advance
