Mate I have a PSTwo and I've got the patch working. After some trial & error. Its actually very straight-forward. You 'dont' need to chip/mod or open your lovely Slimline. Go to this site http://www.ps2ools.co.uk
to buy swap-magic and the magic switch. The guy that owns the site Iain was very helpful and the delivery is as you'd expect. very prompt. I found that the Slim Kit Pro was too tricky, so just go with the standard Magic-Switch. It'll all cost you about £22ish quid give or take a few £££. I just got it all working last night!

ok, i dont have a clue what to do now, i cant seem to put my finger on the problem...

try new media. I have have problems before where the game will not load. I then tried a different media(Packard Bell cd+r) and it worked fine with the jonoboyo patch plus it has worked with winning eleven games aswell.

I use Nero(burn as image) or DVD Decryptor when the games have been patched. I have had probs sometimes just like you. Right now I am having problems with WE8LE. Cd will boot but black screen anyway that probs in another thread.

Hi there

First off, i have made a Cdrip of PES4 and patched it using the british 92 clubs patch thingy and found it works fine, tested on a freinds chiped PS2.

Before i made the disk i was unaware that swap magic cd had a toc limit 632mb (i think limit) and my patched PES4 is a full 700mb (i only have CD burner)

But ive been doing some searching on the net saying that you can use Breaker Pro as a toc disk with swap magic and this well let you play rips of this size.

I want to know if any has had luck by using breaker pro in this way to get a patched rip to work.

I suggest you use CD Loader. Its a special program that you can burn into a CD and load with Swap Magic CD. After you load CD Loader you can play your ripped game without any problems.

Refresh Toc

If you are having problems getting a backup PS2 game to run using swap magic try this.

1) Insert your swap magic cd/dvd as normal

2) when it gets to the load game screen, eject your swap magic disc using the normal eject tray method.

3) On screen you should see a refresh TOC

4) Insert a PS2 game which is large Try Vice City, or a game which you know is quite big.

5) After a short time, the screen should say insert game disc.

6) Use your flip top or other method and replace the disc with your backup copy.

7) Follow the on screen instructions to load the game.

Works quite well normally.

Im using the latest 3.6 PAL versions, im not sure if the others allow refreshing of TOC's, give it a try my freind - it may work on all of them.

Mostly you need to read the basic guide to patching sticky thread. And the thread for the patch itself. Which game will you be patching? PES4 or WE8:LE? If it's PES4, get the jonboyo patch using the torrent method.

Im not sure many places do it anymore

You can always do it yourself....'no-solder' mod chips are around now and apparently they are not too hard to install.

Otherwise you could always just get the Slide Tool and Swap Magic discs.

Ok, i thought that too, as i dont know many people with a chipped PS2 anymore, Oh well

..So should i buy this one ?

I read somewhere on the forum, that you can only use upto a certain size patch with the Slide Card + Swap Magic, so i would not be able to use Jonboyo's patch because its too big. I hope that is'nt true.

One more thing, how does the Slide Card + Swap Magic work ?
do i put a disc in, and swap it with the PES disc or somthing ?
