ML Impossible to buy players

Hi,

Maybe this was already discussed but I was not able to find info on this.

I am playing 2 ML, one with Milan AC and another with Arsenal.
In both of them I am not able to buy or loan any major player, for example Forlan (I am Uruguayan and I want it in any of my teams).

My scouts are L5 and the information they gave is that Forlan is VERY displaced with his current team BUT that the chances of contracting him are almost non existant. His love for his team is almost none, so I wanted to know if there is any chance to get him or what can I do.

Thanks for you help.

Change your negotiation style to "negotiate directly" and start bidding like mad.Don't use scouts, they're shitty.

I didn't think you could do this anymore????? I'm sure I can't do manual bids on the PS3.

^^ What??? I don't have new dlc so I might be wrong, but in my version of PES it IS possible.

And if I was to use scouts, how would I increase their level? (and the trainers etc). I played about 3 seasons with one ML team and they all stayed on Level 1... Does it change automatically or something?

Yep, ive always chosen the option to negotiate directly. It just seemed like common sense as id rather handle things myself. Fact of the matter is it goes like this...you choose to negotiate with a player, i think the scout supposedly then goes into talks with them, at some point you either get blown off or the player agrees to a fee. at that point you review the fee and decide if you wanna exept it as it is or tweak it and renegotiate with your return offer.

Regarding the 'negotiate directly' or 'leave to scout' option. Its one of the options given when you first start a new ML. After that i believe you can still change it at any time through the options or general settings.

Regarding scouts and your chosen level for them. Eventhough i negotiate directly i still have my scout level up as high as i can afford through my 'operating costs' menu, as i believe it gives you a better chance of striking up an initial deal with any player due to the scout still supposedly being the middle man, regardless of whether you choose to negotiate directly.

Hey guys, first of all thanks for the answers.
Regarding the scout or thee directly negotiation, I used the direct one but i never get the chance to bid, the game constantly tells me "negotiations with player XXXX broke down", the players are not even interesting, which is unreal, EVERY player has a price and the game is not giving me that chance...

It's because the ability to make bids doesn't exist in PES '10. I'm guessing that 'Negotiate Directly' refers to the ability to 'dicker and deal' if you will, after your scout has made an accepted offer. Garbage yes, but Forlan is almost always a guaranteed by for me. My favorite player.

Reaper is correct. There is no way to make an original "blow him away" offer. You just have to hope that the player actually wants to negotiate with your team. I tried forever in my Barca ML to get Fabregas, but couldn't. I was the #1 ranked team, everything on LvL 5, nothing. Could it be a "Top Player" thing? Perhaps if the game were on a lower difficulty, you could get more players. Now I'm doing a "default" ML, and only searching for players through my scout based on "willing to negotiate". Otherwise, it's a tough cause to sign someone who isn't. Probably not impossible, but extremely difficult.

Also look for transfer listed players and/or players in the final contract year with Advanced Search. They're usually pretty open to negotiations, especially if they're at teams with low overall rankings and/or they aren't getting games.

I can't sign anyone either. 2nd season now...they're not even big names (Belhadj, Kjær, Matuidi, etc.) and my scout is L5.

Well, I have no reason to play ML now..I think I'll just quit, having played two full seasons, winning league and CL, and only able to sign one player. I even L5ed my fan club, but it doesn't matter. Negotiations keep breaking down because this game has a secret transfer embargo against me so I can end up like Portsmouth. Meanwhile, the rest of the stupid ML teams are able to strengthen and sign superstars, as cheerfully mentioned in the News feed. Total crap.

Unless you're a massive club, it takes a minimum three or four seasons to sign anyone reasonably "big" (~80+). I think I only made two permanent non-free agent signings in my first couple seasons. Just put players on your scout list (and make sure to check the "openness to negotiations" search option under "scout recommendations"), and only try to sign the ones that are reported as being "more than likely to come".

However, it's a lot more fun developing kids from the youth team than buying superstars, imo. You can make a lot of money by flipping the ones you don't want to keep, too. In fact, I think my next ML will be limited to minimum funds and youth team signings only!

Hmm, not sure what im doing different. In my first season (just hit jan transfer window) im not really having too much trouble signing players, both established quality players and young ones. In the august window i signed Anelka (rated 75) for 12m and Adriano ( a winger from somewhere) for about 4m (rated 81). Struggled to get anyone else for a while. Offered on Riise and was delined. Re-offered at transfer window and could have signed him but was for too much. Managed to sign Shay Given (83) for about 19m but sold nani for similar. have also had offers accepted for 3 young players rated in the 60's that are supposed to turn out good. Im Man U on pro level by the way. I have the max scout. I have my scout negotiating throughout the season hoping to tie up sales prior to any window. Haent found any trend between those players i have signed to enable me to say what the differences are between being able to sign and not. All in all my experience is a good one as im not just able to sign anyone and have to be persistent!

Im in my 3rd season and just started getting guys over 70 to commit to my team. I still get a lot of players that the scout says i have no way of acquiring but may be next season. Im a young upstart team. Maybe next year my youth team will be worth something lol

Maybe the game is tweaked so that you have to be consistently successful in order to attract the biggest players. Like in real life (Think Porto after winning the UCL in 04).

It could also be that the lower the level you play, the easier to get players. Anyone ever tried to lower the level during the transfer windows and then up it again when the window closes?
