Started ML today with default man U. Team is absolute rubbish. Youngest player is 24 and the rest are late twenties to very late thirties. I was wondering what options you guys used when you guys started. Did you start with default players? What team?

You'll get varied answers based on personal preference. It'll obviously be easier to play with the proper players of Madrid or Milan. The challenge of ML is to struggle through with these rubbish players until you can afford better ones.

I'm playing with the default players right now, 4*/accumulated fatigue/injuries/25min. This is the best I've ever done with them after trying twice. We are in 4th place with 6pts after 4 matches, our next match is D2 cup 1st LEG away to B.DORTMUND. I love the challnege and the idea of building a team from crap to class eventually.

Started with default, made a team out of them(basically selling all default players and buying huge talents and some arrived players with experience).

Started off before season one by selling most expensive players and choosing Rooney and Sneijder to replace them. Became 2nd in Division 2, so I got promotion to 1st division. Rooney developed to be very good(for example, he now has 99 shot tech, and other stats almost all in red and yellow parts).

My advice would be that you buy big talents, that develop quickly. We have a thread about young talents in the ML,I suggest you look that up if you want to.

having played all the other versions i was pleased to actually be able to start with the 'real' team from the start. However ive won every cup and league ive played in ( besides the 1st season all on 6*) and became quickly bored by not having a challenge. Now i find getting young players in and training them to be the most enjoyable. A bit the otherway round to the old versions.

Personnally i would like to have the option to choose whether or not i want to have the developement option in the game. Example could be that you start with a default squad with AC Milan and have to build them up, however by the time your in the top division to get you squad correct to the real one most of the players will be to old to bother with. Still think its best to start with the default team and build your squad first with journeymen and young stars and then to get the proper players in. Makes you a better player aswell, although once you actually have a decent team youll be spanking everybody most of the time.

Will be doing that with the next version or starting with the real team and get as many young stars in from the beginning.
