ML Player Transfers: Do I keep him, or do I let him leave?

I've recently restarted my ML campaign for the third time. I chose Man Utd as my ML team. As you all know, Man Utd has a huge squad. I don't need that many players, and I'm planning to sell the surplus (going to sell around 9-10 players, leaving my squad with only 22 players).

So when the ML campaign starts (2nd half of the 2010 Summer Transfer Window), I put all my 10 of my surplus players on my transfer list. Unfortunately, because this transfer window is so short, I've only managed to sell 2 out of my 10 surplus players before the deadline.

Fast forward to the 2010-11 Winter Transfer Window, around 6 of my surplus players wanted a contract renewal (I intentionally removed those 6 players from my transfer list after September in case they are withholding the contract because they're angry at me planning to sell them).

Here's my dilemma: Should I renew their contracts in the hope that I'll be able to sell them in the next transfer window, or should I terminate their contract and let them leave? Bear in mind that I may not be able to sell all of them within a year (I set the transfer activity to "low" because I hate seeing star players like Messi in lower-tier teams like Lyon), and that by renewing their contracts, they'll be eating into my revenue stream without contributing to the team. What are your suggestions?

Possibly it is because that you put transfer activity "low", that you are not able to sell your players faster than you thought. I'm playing ML with Real Madrid, Trasnfer Activity on HIGH, I almost sold the entire original squad. What I am saying, you should let your players go by them selves.... since probably they won't get you that much money.

I use Parma and I sell Crespo eventhough he score 15goals in a half of the season
His contract expired next summer but his growth graphic is decreasing so I sell him to Valencia
And I buy a younger striker, not as good as Crespo of course, but I'll train him to be my next super striker

Crespo is losing his speed and stamina, but his technique is still good

I put 11 of my players on transfer listed status(most of them 28 years old or more)
8 were sold in the half season transfer
I use Low transfer activity also
Same like you, I don't like seeing player move around to much but my team

Hope it help

Thanks for your suggestions.

In the end, I opted to renew contracts for 1-2 players who are valued high (worth at least £1M), and let the rest of the cheap ones go.
