ML stat increase

I'm in my 4th ML season with Liverpool and Steven Gerrard is 29 - I have recently noticed that his and Riise's (also 29) speed stats keep on alternating i.e. they keep on reaching 100% experience points and going up an increment but then that is reset and they drop back down again. The same thing happens every time they play... is this a known bug (I have the PS2 version) or is it because they have reached an age where they won't get any faster?
What wouold piss me off is if this starts happening with younger players

It just happens, it's no bug, I guess it comes with the age..

It doesn't only happen with older players, happens with most independently from their age...
It's a bug no doubt.
In ML hapened to me several times: I play a game stats go up, next game I play, SAME stats go up to the SAME value, like there was no previous alteration...

No it's not a bug, they just go down when the player hasn't played for a while, I bet there are loads of other reasons too but it's not a bug.

its when you lload ML on an optionfile that is diffrent than the one u started the ML with

they just want you to play the player to keep that stats.. in real life, if you don't play often and lack match fitness, you stats probably won't be too good as well..

it's happening to me with buffon.Only that his skills dont stay the same.They drop!!!

thats because he is getting on a bit mate players stats decline as time goes on
