Hi,

Looking to make a star team but not sure which players will be best/mostly improved from pes 2008. Anyone have an idea of an ideal team line up, taking into account the improvement of certain players?

I would hope the likes of diego, aguero, and pato have been improved...also senna should be a baller like he proved in the euro and further proves every weekend in yellow...im sure theres more players but this is what i can think of off the top of my head... oh an nihat too...

In real-life, the best Players -never- make the best Team.

But in a Football Sim you can make anything work, PES still Lacks Depth in terms of Stats and Special Abilities.

I'm also going to make a star-team, but I'll try to make it a Team filled with some of the Greatest Players of all Time; Pele, Cruijff, Maradona, etc, etc..

Anyways, good luck with that, you have plenty of players to choose from.

Striker; Van Nistelrooy.

Second Striker; Fernando Torres (or David Villa) (or Ibrahimovic).

Playmaker; Juan Roman Riquelme.

Right Mid; Leo Messi.

Left Mid; Cristiano Ronaldo.

Def Mid; Claude Makelele (or Marcos Senna).

Def Mid; Mascherano.

CB; Carvalho.

CB; Carles Puyol.

CB; Rio Ferdinand.

GK; Casillas.

3-4-3 formation, or 3-3-4 formation.. it depends on How you want your team to work.

Yeah I agree with Amateur, PES really lacks depth in terms of stats and special abilities, at least we can say the stats they have does make a difference, other than Fifa where everybody feels alike.

They can inculde many more stats in PES, even something like 1-10 ability for big game pefomance, where CR7 will be 3 and someone like messi will be 7 or 8. They can add a creativity stat, shooting under pressure stat, vision stat, volley stats etc.

Mascherano, Torres and Reina. Those guys are the best in their positions in world football for me and in the previous game they were pretty average.

In 2008, adriano was amazing at mid/long range shooting and recoba was alright. Who do you think will also be good in 2009? Anyone better then adriano?!

think konami don't know whos going to be good! think they pop the stats in and some players become good with the stats they gave been given!

Cracking line up but think you could choose about 20 better players than makelele plus he's getting on a bit

And I mean Playmaker in the true meaning of the word.. I'm not talking about Fabregas, Ballack, Gerrard, Lampard, and all the so-called "Playmakers".

I wouldn't want One player who tries to contribute in every Aspect; Defence, Attack, everything.. I prefer it if Defensive Midfielders do their work -and- Playmakers do theirs..

And in that sense, I would take Juan Roman Riquelme over any other of the Top Rated Attacking Midfielders.

Yeah I have to agree with Amateur, since Zidane is gone Riquelme is the best overall attacking midfielder today, CR7/Kaka/Messi and those guys are brilliant, but Riquelme has better vision than all of them, and he reads the game better than anyone.

When Veron was with Lazio, he was also a very complete playmaker, but that only lasted 2 seasons or so.
