I wouldn't want One player who tries to contribute in every Aspect; Defence, Attack, everything.. I prefer it if Defensive Midfielders do their work -and- Playmakers do theirs..

And in that sense, I would take Juan Roman Riquelme over any other of the Top Rated Attacking Midfielders.

What about Totti, especially before he had his injury problems recently, last couple of seasons he's been played as a striker where he has scored a good amount of goals but the seasons before when he played in behind the striker i thought he was incredicle as he could just play those intricate through balls & just makes something happen out of nothing. I know there will be loads that dont like him as a player but he is definately gifted & up there with the great players of today.

i think the need to improve tuncay sanli haha but im a boro fan so i would say that. i think every player needs tweaken some way or another.:) as for playmakers does fabragas class as one??? he is immense.

He is definitely a great player -but- in my opinion, Not as good as Riquelme.

I have never seen Totti getting close to Riquelme -when- Riquelme is on a good day, like when he single-handedly Dictated a Win over Del Bosque's Real Madrid.. or when he walked all over Inter in the Champions League Quarter-Finals.

And then again, Roma fails to win the Scudetto -and- I have Not seen Francesco Totti Leading Roma to a Champions League Semi-Final. And please consider that Roma is a Team with more History than Villarreal.

Totti is a great player.. but I think Riquelme is a better "Playmaker".

Yeh im not denying that Riquelme is a world class playmaker, i think Totti from 3/4 seasons ago was on a par with him though, especially when he played alongside batistuta he was incredible but yeh Riquelme is one of if not the best playmaker around just now.
