Multiple "option files" on PS3?

I'm kind of new to the PS3 and previously when I wanted to have an option file with classic teams and players as well as current players, it would be easy because they would be on separate memory cards, and you'd simply have to insert the appropriate one each time you started the game.

What's the most straightforward way to do the same thing on the PS3? I'd like to change names, ability, appearance, kits etc., but want to be able to switch between the 2 versions fairly easily.

Create two users for PS3 for example "Patch Bundesliga" and "Patch Champions League". Then you each Patch two one account, so they don't overwrite.
