My advice to PES 2016 owners!

First of all, I think the game is great and I'm kinda confused why there are so many negativity about the game, I agree with some but overall I think it's a great game. My advice is to change the speed of the game to -1, it's so much better, basically players like Ozil will thrive in this, it's a very balanced speed which I think should have been the default speed from the start. It's something you have to feel to understand. Also Goalies are better in this speed especially Buffon, and of course Neuer.

I agree with you, the game is great and has its potential, but... Why there`s so much negativity? I think that people at first were just happy, seeing the game, trying it out, expecting some stuff to be tweaked for full version, but when it came, more and more weird stuff started to show up, there were no transfers made and everyone had to wait a month for fully updated game. The update comes out on thursday, its still not there, but at least few days left. I know, its strange, but people who are used to Konami and PES, knows there will be lots of strange stuff, but the gameplay itself usually would keep a balance. At the moment, there are lots of people who are just stuck, the same as me. Due to so serious goalkeeper/AI/defence/easy scoring problems, people just dont want to play it anymore. The game looks nice, nice player models, nice movement, but because of above mentioned problems, the game cant last a full year. I dont think many expected this, but as it turned out to be, there are even more flaws than in PES 15, which was at least a bit stable in some way.

Im not saying everyone dislikes it and turns away to FIFA or to nothing, there are lots of who enjoy it as well, but I can see a tendencie, which is pretty much valid, reasonable, because I can even relate myself to that. Usually I let all the negativity go past, since you cant be good to all and fulfill everyones needs, but now, I think, there are some basic problems that have to be solved in order to make this game more stable and lasting.

People bandy the word 'negativity' around but if a game has fundamental flaws, you can bet I will be 'negative' about it!

These games cost $60 over here in the USA, and I expect goalkeepers that know how to save, and referees that know how to officiate. I don't think changing the speed of the game can magically make the goalkeepers any better, it is an inherent problem with the programming. I have always preferred the '-2' setting for PES. Thanks for trying to help but only the 'minor gameplay fixes' will SAVE this game, pun intended. :)

I regrettably have very little faith in Konami to rectify the situation (going by their track record)- I am, however, open to being pleasantly surprised and am looking forward to seeing what those who still have the game think from Thursday...

You know, we still havent received any info about any gameplay changes or fixes. Datapack was officially presented for Thursday, but no info about gameplay, only those small letters under face/team/stadium/boots list in official PES site. People still keep reporting that goalkeepers are broken and someone from PES team recently replyed that they will let the team know and thanks for suggestion. So, at the moment I even dont know what to expect and what will be included at all. I`ll just wait these few more days, but at this moment, nothing is presented by Konami, only annual stuff like faces and boots.

Well it cost a little bit more from where I come. I'm satisfied with it. I do think there are problems in the game no doubt, but it's so minor that it can easily be fixed with a patch, here is where I'm hoping PES developers listens. The major problems is the online and goalies but I'm satisfied with them offline -1 speed as I said so far. But then again I'm waiting for the roster update too.

Nothing in PES really makes me want to play FIFA. It has many things FIFA lacks and one of them is the fun factor.

Yeah, that kind of apparent arrogance pisses me off, they could show some courtesy and actually tell us what the 'minor gameplay fixes' are, instead of making us sweat it out. I would really like to get this game again, I liked how the players control the ball etc. but the goalkeeping is basically f***ed (as far as I'm concerned)!

That's the main thing (on a personal satisfaction level)- you're actually enjoying the game- I enjoyed NBA Live 14, whereas most people seemed to hate it! :)

That's fair enough, but shouldn't the interactive and control elements of a user-orientated game be completely consistent in every game mode?

This is my problem, offline is fine, play on Easy and bang in super goals from every angle, laugh your way through lobotomized defences and set yourself up with every kinda of sporting glory. Smashing stuff!

However, the moment you try to take that online suddenly your controls will be subject to periodic changes of a very negating nature.

On a little side-note: Here's something to do, a little experiment, go play MyClub for about 10 games then come back here with your assessment. I don't think you will want to play much more of MyClub after that and it may even change your outlook on the game, but not offline of course since you love that and it remains unchanged, though you have to understand offline isn't the entire game, it's a part of the game, a mode within the game so when you think about this game as a whole you must include all modes.

I bought this game to play online Vs my friends and offline Vs my friends and when I play its always the same, random bouts of silliness all over the place with AI handing either team cheap goals.
It's simply not fair and utterly defeats the idea of winning based on who is actually more skilled, more intelligent, which is pretty much the fundamental philosophy behind any competitive sport. So what is the point of playing when at any point the AI can hand your opponent a goal or ultimately the victory?

You need to take this into account when declaring "...oh the game is brilliant just turn down the speed 1 notch..." among the problems everyone else has.

Btw I play with -1 speed but when you play online or MyClub you are forced to play normal speed. Add that to the list of player-negating issues.

I understand what you mean. I have played MyClub online its a bad experience. But I'm enjoying ML so far. I'm an offline guy, I do hope PES fixes online to play with my friends but then again my version of the game is different than my friends version which is another problem Im having. So I have to either buy another version or stay with mine.

I only play offline- the goalkeepers are atrocious, it was far too easy to score (and concede) on 'Top Player', that's why I traded mine.

Why not play superstar are you afraid of it or something. Again if you changed the speed to -1 the goalies are better because it fits the speed they move in, idkw. They need to tweak it that's for sure. You're fast in judgement why not wait for an update.

We will also be doing minor updates to improve a lot of gameplay aspects that our players have been requesting through our social channels, more news on that soon!

https://pes.konami.com/pes/news-on-roster-and-live-updates/

This was posted some time ago and I start to think that this is only for future. People might misinterpreted that it will come out straight away. Thats my guess, so I wont be surprised if tomorrow we will get only new faces and some teams.

I tried -1 game speed and I find it extremely hard to score, compared to regular speed. I only tried one match, vs Man City, and Hart was their best player. But while it is much harder it is also more realistic. Even the entire flow of the game is less rushed.

I had to play in a AOD style, waiting for them to come to me, and then play it slowly but steadily up the pitch (unless it was from a corner, then they'd be lacking Kompany in defense and I'd have a good chance to score in CA). It was one of the most lifelike matches I've ever played. They would pass it around Barça style trying to find a gap, I'd do the same, and it felt like a real players was on the other side.

Of course this could be just with Man City, but I liked it anyway.

I never played 'Superstar' because as with virtually all video games, the CPU goes into 'god mode' at times, and I can't be bothered with that. I like to play with patient build-up play, intelligent passing- it's hard to do that on the 'superstar' level. Well, I was so angry about the poor (game-breaking for me) goalkeepers, a month is a long time in gaming. $60 for a 'coaster' for a month was a little too much stomach! Plus the out-of-date squads niggled me, too; add to that the abysmal refereeing...

I've actually traded another game- NBA 2K16 (I hate it, I'll stick to 2K15 for another year)- I traded GTA V with it and got NHL 16 (with a $6 credit). They've improved that game so much since last year!

So, I have FIFA 16 and NHL 16, and am very happy with both of them. I held out for as long as I could, and got NHL a couple of days ago. Luckily, my wife was very understanding about it! Anyway, I'm glad that you enjoy PES 16, that's what it's all about, we play the games that we actually like.

If Konami have sorted out the problems, I might look into getting the game at xmas time (even though I don't believe in xmas)! :D

If you have any playing time you must know by now that SS is utterly broken and it's the easiest difficulty level in the game.

Superstar is weird for me, at times it is as hard but other times it's easy. It's inconsistent, it's one of the things that needs to be fixed in the game. Also I don't understand why there are so many difficulty levels in the game. Just have Regular, Top Professional and Superstar.

If you're suppose to be delivering a simulation football game, then do so.

No one should have to adjust game settings speed (to -1 as OP stated) in order to have a proper game play experience.

I've have been a long time PES gamer for over 10 years. I thoroughly enjoyed PES 15 but sad to say, I am not enjoying PES 2016 whatsoever and I'm considering selling it asap.

I tried this bit of advice and totally agree it makes the game much more realistic brings a nice balance to matches.

Lol piss off. It's a great game. Hardly any control lol.

Some people prefer a faster pace game and others prefer slower speed. They are giving you a choice, hardly to say no one.
