I think Houllier is brill for Liverpool.
For managers, Arsene Wenger seems like a professor, Juve's Marcello Lippi also
I think Wenger made a big mistake when he let Upsom go from Arsenal, their small squad and lack of depth in defence is Arsenal main weakness. Upsom has helped Birmingham a lot, best defence in the Premiership until December came and a bad run.
Otherwise, he's excellent. Lippi, I wouldn't feel qualified to criticise. He's created a fantastic team, so unlucky last year in the Champions League. They're crazy if they let Trezeguet go.
Houllier has let much too much talent go, and too easily - Litmanen and Anelka especially when Heskey is still there.
He's dumped new young players in over their heads (Cheyrou, Diao, Traore) and they've suffered as a result, constantly plays others out of position (Kewell, Diouf), and doesn't move to make tactical changes or substitutions early enough to have an effect on games (e.g. nearly every game they played under him in Champions League).
Top 4 and qualification is the clubs benchmark, so in my book he should have gone at the end of last season, and I expect him to go at the end of this one.
