My FIFA 2005 demo semi-review

You can't just say it's crap without playing it. Sure you don't like FIFA, but give it enough respect not to judge it before you've tried it.

We go on on about FIFA fan-boys always sticking up for their game, but we're just as bad when you think about it.

I just downloaded the demo for the PC, and I think that it is pretty poor, when the camera goes behind the keeper at the goal kick, the camera is to low and you can see the studs, whcih should be in the grass/mud.
Also, I find that the layout of the title screens are great and well presented but when it comes to the football game, it is a piece of sh*t, the movement of the players are unrealistic, eg: when I shot with Reyes, it cut to him waving his arms about and h would never do that in a really match and then Henry did it about 2 seconds after!

The crowd looks worse, than in FIFA 2004/03!

I think that this one is going to be by far the worse one ever and thats good as PES4 is going to be the best on ever!!

lol u mad, u mean on pes3 players don't throw there arms in the air at an invisible ref? u gotta admit its the best fifa yet however good u think it is, the AI is better than previous fifas

The crowd ain't that special in pes3 either, go to the old trafford stadium, the overhead view when u look at the west or east stands u can cleary see there 2d carboard lol, also all the animations/ cut scenes won't be in fifa yet - remember its only the demo

plus...from watching the videos of pes4 in the zyg thread it has put me off it more than before, some of the icons on screen ( e.g added time and when its offside just looks crap)

fifa was reviewed in xboxgamer mag and it gave it 6/10,
pretty poor! i thought fifa was meant 2 b giving pes4 a run 4 its money this time!!!

i reckon it only got 6/10 cos pes4 is out on xbox now, if pes4 wasn't coming out for xbox then it prob would have got a 9 or sumet.

btw. its always pes4 giving fifa a run for the money cos fifa still outsells it every year

I think it should read " we had to pretend fifa was good until we realised we were getting pes now we can say how rubbish it really is and admit we have been playing pes on the ps2 anyway".

btw when i said fifa giving pes a run 4 its money i meant in terms of how good it was not in units sold coz fifa always outsells coz of all the teams and it being offical

It only outsells PES because it is on all Console's, but now this year PES will outsell it as it is on the two main console's, PS2 and XBOX!!

Ur right Ronaldo, but we have to give it a chance although I'm never turning back from PES. 99 was the last decent FIFA. However unfortunately Fifa will still sell more. It is always well better advertised and marketed, PES is a word of mouth game. This year there will be more word of mouth of PES, so perhaps next year PES 5 will give Fifa 2006 a run for its money.

Nice review mike, just a few things though:

*Goalkeeping - The goalie actually catches the ball with his wrists sometimes!
*Shirts - Yes they look blurred and surprisingly flat, inlike PES you cant see any creases!
*First touch/ Movement - alot of stuffy skills get you past defenders, sometimes the defence seems to want you to get past

Strange how when ppl review fifa they look for the most shitty glich just to make it seem crap i bet i could sit through pes for an hour and find many shitty bugs like that - its called being biased

I actually respect you for what your doing lol , ur sticking up for FIFA! Im like you in a way,last year i bought both and this year im buying both aswell.I like to give both of them a chance so im with you on that! Fifa does sell a lot more than PES but PES is still a very good game! Cant wait to play it!

PES3 had a bundle of bugs and uttely annoying faults, I expect PES4 will too.

The PES series is by no means faultless, there are less faults than FIFA. Far less.

But EA have acknowledged this and have started to iron the creases. Personally I'd love the FIFA series to improve to the extent that Konami get their finger out and start dishing out the dosh for licenses and slick presentation.

Thats what is needed for PES to get a lot better.Fifa needs to rule and that'll make konami think.Then they will have to get licenses and i think that wud attract a lot more fans!!!!
