I used the 5-3-2 B default formation the max goals I got was 5 facing Poland and lost to England and some strong countries 1-2 times. My sister keeps bitching about how lame this formation is because most of the time the CPU passes my defense line and shoot open goals. It's like no one was there to defend. I wonder what happened...

I beg your pardon?
I use a 532 everynow and again, surprisingly effective, really good against an attacking opponent. If you want to knock it up a notch, check out the link in my sig for some advanced trickery....
Some pointers may help with your back line too..

Well, thanks for the opinions LoL @ Kiraly, he's indeed a goalie because apparently I can't find a good defender. But I'll try the 532 formation today and see if that helps.

henry defensive midfielder??? lol i spose if it works with such success that u beat Italy 7-1 u can't knock it 2 much! :D ;) wot about swappin zidane and henry round so then zizou can thread passes thru 2 henry 4 his explosive pace and skill 2 destroy the opposition and create chances 4 that lethal strikeforce upfront uve got, ronaldo and rooney!

Nice to see my formations geting used.
Fantasywave, your players are all over the shop. When you put the difficulty up, you'll notice more. Most people here play 5* only.
Have a look for threads to help you with player selection.

Mate, I'm not trying to be big-headed or anything but most of us play on 5 star difficulty. 7-1 against Italy on 2 star difficulty is not a great feat, I would put it down to your skill rather than the formation. Unfortunately I don't think either formations work well with the players you have selected.

When you get to playing on higher difficulty levels I'd advise that you play players in or near their position.

If you really want to improve your game I advise you to sticking to three star difficulty until you can beat the computer relatively heavily and consistently and then move up to four stars and repeat the process.

JMZ i'm constantly using yours lol they are great! i have a few which im gonna have to up load soon!!

EDIT: @fantasywave i got a tip. to test your self on skill difficulty: play as wales on 4* in european cup and win it if you do then your ready for 5*.

this is how i got up to five star. i went in straight at 4* and played from there really

Nah, I'm still struggling with * * *. I'd have to practice months just to get pass * * * since * * took me almost 2 months to master.

If you play on 3* you might aswell knock it up to 5. There isn't a great deal of difference.
Leave the noobs alone. You were a noob one day.

Hi, I have two good formations. The first i beat my mate 21 times in a row with the other 17 times playing on 5*star. Biggest win was 9-0 when he was sweden and i was Ukraine. Ive got an x-port but dont know how do diplay my formations at all on the pc. Any ideas?
