If i want to make a dream team, by taking one of the 'blank' teams and changing the name, kit, stadium etc, how can i put in players that i like and want in my team but without removing them from their original team. basically, can players be copied, rather than moved?

If you have a PESFan Editor, then you can move players from other OFs into that OF and keep the old ones in the same team

ok, thanks, but what is a PESFan Editor? i have the PS2 version of the game, does that have it?

A PESFan Editor, is a thing you can download and put onto your computer, where you can add teams from other OFs, put in real badges e.t.c., of course for this you need a max drive or X-port, in order to transfer the OFs between PS2 and PC and I'll understand if you don't want to do that.

Apart from that though, I don't think there's any other way

You need to choose any player from the blank team, then base copy him into any player. (you need to go in the edit player mode)
