--------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello there.

Why am i writing this?
I am writing this thread for people who want help with the game about ML, Edit Mode, Option Files, Basically anything to do with PES2008

Why i think this will help people
People on these parts of the forums are mostly "newbies". It seems they all seem to open the same type of thread asking the same thing. I hope that this thread will help them, and stop them opening threads asking the same thing and will also stop this part of the forum being messy.

Never played the game before? or perhaps you feel you are not that good?

I am not going to lie, i used to be absolute poop at PES when it first got released but as the series went on i gradually became "a better player". I know this PES is a let down to all the other versions but i play it enough to know its a GOOD game. Its not good playing your very first game at PES when you have no idea, how to well play the game. Example:
You have never played PES before. You buy your very first copy. Go straight to Exhibition. Choose your team. Then when you get playing the game, all passes are intercepted, you can't get the ball off the COM, you can't defend against the opponents and you think
"Dam i hate this game"
turn it off and then do whatever after that. Heres a little tip:
Go to "Training" then there you can practise everything, passing, shooting, free kicks, corners. It don't matter whether you spend about 1 hours every day practising, because as they say "Practice makes perfect".

Few suggestions on how to improve the game:

In "General Settings" turn the difficulty to a lower setting, the defualt is Regular, so just turn it down to Ametuer, or Beginner.

Play against "Lower Teams". Instead of playing against the likes of Brazil, Barcelona and so on. play against teams that are not as good as them. Makes a lot of difference.

Master League
This is a mode where you can take any given club through years and years of football/soccer going through transfer periods, cup games and so on. This is the one thing i play on PES the most because i never get bored of it. Remember, once you pick a club you can't leave your club for another so choose wisely!

When you choose your club you are asked to choose your "General Settings". Again, if your new to PES don't have the difficulty on too hard but also not to easy, because it would become boring with a 4-0 win every game, with say a 38 game winning streak. My settings are these:
Time: 5 Mins
Difficulty: Top Player
Level: Hard
Hidden Classic players: No

The rest really don't matter its your choice. This is what i suggest people start as if they are new:

Time: 10-15 Mins
Difficulty: Anything below Professional
Level: Anything below Hard.
Hidden/Classics: Up to you.

Your transfer points start at 15 000. Don't worry you gain transfer points after each game. Your club salary can be found by going to "Negotiations --> Expected Earnings" you can then see what your club salary is. Try to balance it and don't go too high.

Negotiations
As you go through games there comes a time where you can strengthen your squad. Now you all will seem to get excited
"Yes! i can sign World Class players"
Easy does it there. If your Team Popularity is below a C, you have no chance in getting the likes of C.Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Messi. If thats the case, don't worry there are some young talents who turn out great, going through development, age. ect. Also next to the players salary that they are worth is a number heres a little guide:

100-80: Should get them with-out trouble.
70-50: Fairly easy, just offer a high salary. A swap deal may work.
40-20: Extremely Hard to get, either offer high transfer points, or a extremely high salary
10-0: Very Rare they will join, so just move on to a different player.

Star Players or World Class players?
Sometimes young or/and unknown players become the worlds best. So instead of signing C.Ronaldo or Messi or Kaka and so on. Look in the "Rookie" section. This can be found by going to "Search by Group" then press LB or L1 tthen you see symbols then the first one is named "Rookie" keep a close eye on this section, go to the threads below, partically the first one, and any players mensioned which says Newcomers that turn out brilliant or very good, try and sign them. Or go to "Search by Talent --> Future Potential" then all players that are in that list turn out very good.

Here are some very good thread on Player Recomendations:

How to Balance your team
In this, i will basically, tell and explain how you can balance your team. One or Two things you need to take in mind is this. If your at the end of the season in the negotiations, keep a close eye on your club salary, if this is higher than your transfer points you are in danger of going bankrupt and "Game Over". If this is the case, before you get to the Last week. Put some players up for sale and if your lucky enough teams will come in for bids. But be careful because if your team becomes less than 16 players, again, "Game Over". take this in mind when signing players.

Here, you can Create & Edit players Edit teams, Register players.

Not a bad start to a PES guide, although not sure on some of the EPL transfers. I think Danny Mills went to Derby and there are quite a few missing.

I learnt something about transferring people into my master league team though so thanks!
