go to www.ati.com and grab the latest drivers.. and at the same time have a look at the realease notes to see if it says anything about any issues it might have with that game.. if that doesn't work.. then let me know and i will have a bit more of a think..

the difference between 4x APG and 8x APG, is marginal.. although the names suggest other wise... it is only between 5 - 10 percent.. at most..

I have a similar board and a similar vidcard.. i have an ASUS P4PE 533 APG 4x, and a Radeon 9700.. and every game performs great... DOOM3 @ 1024 v 768 all settings max except AA and AF were turned off.. pretty awesome.. for a comp thats 18 months old really.. so.. unless you are picky and con afford a mobo upgrade.. do not worry about it..

What the hell is APG? You mean AGP right?

Anyway this guide needs to be updated for the new 6800/6600 series/x600/X800 series.

Absolutely right Gudster, I would do an update if a) I had the time, and b) If i still kept up with vid card technology etc. But as it is so progressive, it's difficult. All you need to remember is that Nvidia and ATI, usually have a 3 tier card range, aiming at the budget, value concious market, the mid level general market and the advanced/high end market.

Just remember a 5200 is an entry level card, a 5600 is the mid, and 5900 is the top end. Basically newer released cards still follow this formula, so just check to see what the next evolution of card is in each category. ok this may not be of much help and if anyone wants to write a performance/compatability guide update, feel free. I am sure the mods will make it a sticky.

Yeah I can appreciate that mate, and thats sounds advice. Look at the numbers of the models. Higher generally means better, BUT is NOT always the case. Ask here!

1. only ask for help in one place, you'll get it
2. the game will drag, bad, with a gf2mx, cant do much about that, thats a VERY old card, its recommended that you look into upgrading your system, or buying the console version of the game

Some one tell me if "256MB NVIDIA GE FORCE 6600 Graphics" will do. The PC is at 3.4 ghz P4, and 512MB RAM and 1mb cache.

I'm also unsticking this thread as we arnt getting that many video card questions now, so we can just use the system specs thread for that for now, or just post in here when needed.

I have a P4 PC with a Radeon 9800 pro 128mb graphics cards, P4 2.4ghz CPU and 512 RAM onboard.

Can you explain how the game run perfectly on PES3 but when I installed PES4 the game graphics are slow and jerky and the sound is choppy and sound like an alien talking !!

The recommended spec mention directx 8.1 and I have 9c onboard so if it works for PES3 it should be OK for PES4

I have onboard graphics which might account for the dodgy sound but it runs OK in PES3

Any advice would be welcome

Steve
